Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

Dang.... You guys got some fatties. :haha:

My Tundra weighs 5100lbs, full tank.
And, cant haul crap.... :haha:

That's cuz you yourself are "svelte" Mike.

If you put me as a "man of stature" in there, it'd pass three tons real fast :D

But now you have me wondering what my K5 weighs -- soft top, sure, but all those toolboxes and such add up. :dunno: S'pose I'll hafta find me a scales locally and find out...

ok, totally lost.. I waited for that monstrosity to load,, and still don't get it... :dunno:

ok, I see it know.. sheesh that sh*t takes FOREVER to load....

yeah, thanks.. I think my tubebed is gonnna be a very different look than 97 1/2% of the flaltbeds I've seen... diamond plate flat stuff is sooooo 90's.... :haha:

way jealous of a cummins tho.. :waytogo:

Really? loads up uber quick on my computer :dunno:

Yah I was more getting at the cummins swap, I cant stand diamond plate... But something about having a vice mounted to the flatbed.... That would come in handy

Paul, I saw a truck that had the roof lights just like yours in the parts yard, but some jerk had decided to place BB Gun practice on all of them...the lenses are all destroyed...HOWEVER the bases are rubber and still soft (Couldn't believe it) would you be interested in one or more of those? I know you got one bad lens. :dunno:

thanks, but don't worry about it.. I'm still undecided on which way I'm gonna go with those.... hopefully i'll be putting the roof in paint at the end of the summer and deciding than...

so... thought I'd throw this up even tho I'm missing the ds visor and haven't finished the ps door panel, to give an idea of how the whole Ryoken red/black Mutt interior is coming together...

the old white/maroon deal......

I'll be finishing off that stuff here and there thruout the summer....

tube order should be here in 2 weeks or so hopefully... winter bills set me a couple weeks behind on that... but now that the 92 2wd is legal and drivable, Mutt can go under the knife at any point really... just gonna run it thru inspection right before the tube comes in...

looking good, never cared for white interiors myself.

hows the A/C work?
I'm thinking Vintage air unit for my CC...that will get me a flat firewall, new A/C system (non working system right now) and 134 instead of R12 as well, but not sure what kit to order with the 6BTA going in there?

interested to see the tube work come together!

it doesn't... it needed/needs a compressor... just yanked it to deal with other more important issues initially...

eventually I'll get the factory working, mainly cuz of the upcoming pooch aspect...hopefully a cummins will allow it..

in your case, I'd be waiting to see how the dizzle fit's...

and thanks... even tho I'll be driving her another couple weeks before semi taking it off the road, I'm already missing driving it.. :screwy: I drove the pickup for the afternoon today, and was already jonesing/missing Mutt.. in just an afternoon.. :doah: transportation is always nice, but Mutt is fun!

so I'm pretty motivated to get major progress/leaps in the tubebed build done once it starts and get back to driving her....

the rig is an AMAZING attention getter now, EVERY single day people comment and praise it, even with the balsa stage.. wait'll they get a load of it in about 3 months! :pimp: :haha:

I actually considered vanity "MUTT" plates saturday when I reg'd her.. I've never even contemplated vanity plates before.. :haha:maybe next yr when I actually have the pooch.. :doah:

can you do an authentic plate?

In MI you can use a plate from the year of your vehicle as long as its 25 years old, then its registered to your vehicle as long as you own it...I have all my old stuff registered that way.

never heard of that before.. I'm guessing it's running the "style" colors of that yr?

for us, it would prolly be the tan background/black letter plate we had for yr's for an 89... and I guess I kinda like that one a bit better than the newer blue/yellow ones...

honestly, I never really liked either much.. but I suppose the older tan/black ones are cooler.. but I don't think we have that authentic option.. I think it's just custom vanity in the new style, or "wildlife, conquer cancer, etc" ones..

and I'm not even sure what they charge for it these days.. at one point it was $75 I think, but it's prolly more now.. or if "MUTT" centered is even available... prolly some dogbreeder has it or something.. obviously I could vary that a bit..

sounds like your restrictions are severe....cannot be altered from manufacturers original design in any way...wtf?

yeah, I'm pretty sure they are VERY strict on color, etc.. coughnazicough heck, we HAVE to have a front plate.. many states don't require that I'm pretty sure..

I've got 5 different personalized plates actually. Lol. Bit of a whore.

heck, I spent $150 or whatever on a duck for my hood :saweet:, splurging $100 or whatever for a custom plate shouldn't be a big deal right?

next "extra" money, (that rare bird ;) ) maybe I'll do it..

side Mutt note.. a gas station guy the other day loved the mallard... another one who had noooo idea of either movie it was from...
