Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

That's a question where everyone thinks "man I've touched one a million times but never thought of the size" But I think they come in both 1/2" or 5/8"

yeah? off the top of the head, I figured 1/2" seemed likely...

I'll go outside tomorrow and mesh a receiver I've got kicking around..

just trying to plan for how much drill pressing I've got coming up on the adjustable gig! :doah: :doah: :haha:

5/8" for sure! I went and measured with my calipers after you asked. :haha:

5/8" actually

wow, didn't realize it was that big... :doah:

that's what she said... :haha:

ok, maybe I'll re-evaluate that and go with a different pinning method...

eh, I should probably just nut/bolt em, more than likely wont change em often...

Ding ding, we have a winner!

1/2" for the 1 1/4" receivers, class 1 or 2 or whatever they're called.

5/8" for the 2" receivers, I know, and I'm guessing for the 2.5" as well.

Unless you buy them @ Harbor Freight, in which case they're metric Chinese mis-sized crap with cheap powder-coat to make up the diameter difference. However, I do find the "easy grip" ones handy for other purposes

I used 'em on my tire carrier, for instance. I think the allegedly 5/8" ones measured out at 9/16" and, once cleaned of their coating, were a smidge over 1/2" of actual metal.

great info, thanks bud! :waytogo:

I'm thinking I'm just gonna bolt the legs with 1/2"er's...

yeah, 1/2" is plenty of beef for that.. overkill..

actually looked at the push button, quick releases for marine stuff.. but even at my discounted price, it's not worth the coin...

I think the smaller 1/2"ers with clip-in pins I posted will work great for the legs..

grrrr... someone sniped my drawer... oh well, something will turn up... worst case I'll get one of these durhams.. tho a bit pricier than I'd like to spend, the quality is supposed to be outstanding as opposed to the cheaper units..
