Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

Well, I'm not a mathmagician, but I'd say, if you use 5, 80 pound bags, plus or minus 400 pounds or so. :haha:

fug all that.. i'll just get my Jackass 4.3 audition tape ready by running into a tree holding it extended in front of me? ? !!! ? :dunno: :haha:

I would try to buy a short section of pipe. A steel service center would/should have 12" pipe.

actually I have the solution at work.. I've gotta have a hunk of 12" piling kicking around at the marina that I can chainsaw off a hunk...

I did kind/sort of look for that a bit... I checked fazzio's.. smallest section I could get was like 48".. wasn;t sure if that was an inside or outside diameter measurement either.. it was heavy as f*ck too.. :eek1:

tho I'm certainly no expert of local giant plumbing supply type stuff... heck, I'm sure there's places that would give you a 1 or 2" hunk for $10 if you know where to look.....

I am guessing you know this, but if not FYI.
Pipe is ID
Tube is OD

Schedules of pipe 40,80,etc. get thicker as pipe size goes up. Meaning a 2 inch sch 40 is thicker then. 1 inch sch 40.

Tube stays the same.

it was my roundabout way of saying that, yes, a 12" pipe makes a lousy die as the diameter is much greater than it should be.. maybe a 10" pipes outside diameter is 12", I don't know..

I don't wear your boots, so idk. But is it that critical? For what your doing I wouldn't think so....

The two or three times I have bent aluminum using a buck I learned large pipe is not awesome cause it takes work to clean it up. It seemed the aluminum we were bending got an imprint of every surface imperfection. Used wood sanded nicely from then on. I also like using wood cause if your cutting big you can use screws to hold parts very easily during bending.

looking good Paul. Looking very good

Looking very good

:haha: someone see's it.. good man... the hangin boxes, etc? swear i'll make it cool..

love it when I get props from someone who can build... :woot: :waytogo:

I've been leaning towards wood from day one.. :waytogo: honestly tho the piling idea sounds right on the money.. I hope we have something still kicking around.. we just had like 50 g's in bulkhead work.. I'm gonna check first thing in the morn...

I'm not overly worried about marring the surface... I'm pretty good at making tings disappear... ;)

new additions to the tool arsenal... ;)

ba dump bump.... :haha:

trying to dry em up a bit.. than I'll run a flatpadded DA around em to smooth things out a bit...

they are both under, 10 and 8... but I'm thinking I can make it work.....

if I can have 1 of the light panels done by sun night, I'll be seriously stoked....

inner tubegate panel is fitted, and smooth ;).. be burnished and installed for the weekend..

need to fab the reverse latch handles.. materials should be here tomorrow..

winch hardware is en route.. some minor welding over the weekend and I can have the 9000XP mounted with fairlead..

chance of the winch actually being operational any time soon?!!!??? probably not till that lower dual bat box is built..

but get it mounted and move on... oh, yeah, sneak in that bolt-in tube receiver fab work, please... needs your attention.. :dunno: :dunno: :dunno: :woot:   help? ;) :pimp:  :haha:
