spent the morn doing the zero rate up front... bumped it up 1.5", should have gone 1".... plenty of room in the back... get's tight to the front fang on turns...

well... IF, I was gonna cut, it would be the front.. but, If I can leave the fangs I'd rather for now... I'll run it, see what kinda clearancing it needs.. and if I can get back in and change the centerpin location at some point in the next month, I will.....

gonna go do the lay out for the lights now....... tubegate latches are done too....

How is the front driveshaft looking with the added zero rate and the shift forward?

it's looking like an open space... ;) it's been out since I put the new springs in the winter.. being I need to regear it, I never bothered throwing it back in...

with a 1.5" forward, and a 7" spring effectively, I'm sure it's horrible... it was ok with just a straight 4" lift... I figured I would need to do something with it next fall when I do the 4:88's.......

I definitely want to bring it back the 1/2"... took me 4 hr's this morn, and almost went right at it again to change it.. but I wanted to play with the taillights..

stooopid printer sh*t the bed and I need to print out a template for the lights...

Nice job on the taillight panels!

I agree with you bring the axle back a 1/2" will put the proportions right.

it's sooooooooo solid as it closes..... it was before, but adding the 2 al panels made it even more stout...

maybe i'll get a video clip tomorrow...

That is finishing off so nicely that it looks like "factory"...now don't take that the wrong way, what I mean is that it is so professional looking it looks like a million bucks.

Wow that aluminum work looks good.

I also gotta know..how high is it to the bottom of the door jamb :eek1:

it's 30.5" to the bottom edge of the door.. ;)

thanks mang... :D I'm obviously pretty rev'd... pretty hardcore at this point.. looking for "quiet" work at night, yada...

I'd actually like to be alum welding, and fabbing the doghouse in 2 or 3 weeks.. in the meantime I'll work on getting the mirror to that panel..

pretty full day planned for tomorrow... 6:30, out the door, go print templates at work, shopping, fuel...... back home at 7:30 tearing the front end apart... git r' dun... 4 or 5 hr's of running a dozen truckloads of tree over to the dump...

finish off by cutting light holes..

next weekend, get the other side done too, wired and sequencing...

following weekend, fit up side doors...

I do hafta say... :deal: the brain pic is right on so far.. :smokin2:

throw in the prerunner spare, amber lightbar, fuel doghouse, lower boxes and winch...

the sh*t is balls on...

I hope it's pleased the imaginative CK5 masses/gallery expectations..... there'll always be haters, but I'm not here to please them...

at this point, can't say I would change anything design-wise, from the coffin, to the tubegate, to the handrail, it's all pretty spot on... :pimp:

and I'm thinking it's actually going to be MORE effective/efficient, than most can imagine.. service/useful-wise... this rig will carry/fix pretty much anything, from an engine to a goose/redneck/toy hauler, to a fridge, to a Sea Ray, or stack o' 4' x 8's...

effective/efficient,
well, other than a Cummins... :doah: :haha:

for now... :haha:

oh, just as another ramble... I'm really hoping the angularity of the taillight panels doesn't cause too crazy an issue with the LED "directionalness" they are known for.. hopefully the mirrored LED's will help alleviate that.. it's also why I specifically bought "diffused" reverse lenses...

absolutely worst case scenario, that you actually don't see them well from behind, and it's freaky bright to the next lane? :dunno: I'll go back to a 6' oval incandescent light over the LED.. I KNOW they'll look good.. (may have been a better choice from the get go)

Well! Fockin A! :waytogo:

Everything's looking bad ass!
Sure that sucks to move the front axle back...but... it will look better.

Awesome job!

No way they don't see you hitting the brakes w/ all those lights!

Are you going to put more screws into the light panels. Looks like it needs 3 more screw heads, one at the bottom on the side and one top/bottom before it bends around the corner.

The wheels really make this truck as well as the bed. I love it. Makes me wanna upgrade my wheels a bit.

yeah, at some point... it's plenty solid as is... but yeah, for symmetry, etc, i'll do those 3.. but it'll be "fill, nothing else going on" type work..

damn that looks awesome!!!!

thanks mang :D

Lights look good!

How did you end up shaping the panel anyway?

wooden mallet and my logs... smooth with a DA when done... didn't bend nearly as easy as I suspected, but I got r' dun...

gonna see about doing the zero rate this afternoon, get it over with... 3 more dump/tree loads first....
