Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

oh, forgot to mention this kennel tidbit o' kibble.. the gangplank will be dual sided.. can be slid out on the ds or ps....

some brushed bling to get me motivated to build the doghouse....

and nearly 500lb's in weight too! :doah: :haha: :pimp:

all good... rather have the capacity, than not...

gonna start bending the other panel tomorrow, it's trimmed..... chasing down all my wiring materials... still haven't gotten the license light and fairlead from eghey yet.. I'm ASSUMING they'll be here by Friday...

oh... newfounded, alum welding mediocrity will come in handy building the alum gangplank.....

hmmmmm, what paw/claw friendly surface? griptape?

ahhhh, :deal: indoor/outdoor bass boat carpet!!!! perfect! :pimp:

Yikes. Just keep it topped off and it'll only be painful once.

good to see ya feller... :waytogo:

still have NO idea what he's gonna charge me.. I'm figuring a g to build it... it may be as cheap as 700, 800 maybe...... or 1500 to 1800.. :doah: :doah: :doah:

we'll see.. he does know us...

i'll leave the internal baffling to him... i'll see what he thinks about an inch or so deep sump at the pickup area on the bottom... I definitely want an NPT drain plug......

but he's gonna be making the pickup plate/tubes, welded filler neck.. I'd actually like to have the doghouse fabbed with the door, filler and hunk o' hose ready for him so they can really know what it's all about....

just sucks I have to pull the tubebed to actually mount it... but I knew early on that was gonna happen due to the psycho tank/frame mount deal I'm gonna run...

well, the left and right turn signal light feeds to the circuit board idiot lights... which effectively could be an "out of column" colors iirc... I can figure it out on the fly, but just trying to be prepared...

light blue and dark blue to instrument panel and feed the front lights too, the back lights are yellow and green for brake and turn. i would think that that would be wires you would use.

the regular orb outputs go to the rear wiring..

the "control" for the orbs need to go to the turn light only.. brake can't be involved apparently... no big, I'll run a pair of blue/lt blue with the existing green, yellow and brown up the rail and splice em in when I get a chance..

you can actually put a DPDT switch in and have it fully controllable.. turn only, sequence off and burst mode...

I sure hope you're planning some sort of lock on the fuel tank? I would think seeing that big tank would be gold in a punks eyes.

Is the burst you are talking about like a couple quick flashes as soon as the brake is applied? I've seen that on motorcycles before and a truck or two. I'm with you on the "that's too much" mindset. The sequential turns is where it's at!

I decided not to get a lock for the door, too 80's looking.. I figure if I feel it's an issue, I can run a locking gascap behind it...

also keep in mind, most of the tank is below deck height.. the doghouse wont actually be all that big.. 14" high at the window, back 12" flat, than taper down (same angle as the prerunner tubes) to the tube at the front of the coffin so 30" long..

the burst is in addition to the sequence turns, every time you step on the brake, it initially sequences across once and stays on.. so if you sat there tapping your brakes it would keep sequencing... that's actually the "default" setup, if you don't run the control wires..

I get what you're saying now. That burst doesn't sound as bad as I was thinking it functioned. Still though, I can easily see where driving in traffic and having to be hitting the brakes frequently would get annoying for someone behind you.

come on, an evil cigar puffing duck breathing down your bumper just screams mellow.... :haha:

plodding away.. couple step by steps tonight... marked off for the bends in 1/2" increments

than I begin to work each line from out to in, a couple degrees with the block o' steel...

I than begin to work it around my walmanized anvil *patent pending*...
