thanks... the sides, start to show some life.... as I've alluded to, the drawers are really the "heart" of the bed... certainly the most noticeable to other drivers....

the spare tire, which will be installed before these are "done, done" may be more visually "pronounced", and pimp (stay tuned, soon! :deal:)..

but these drawers/side doors, are really kinda, the soul of this tubebed... :o

it's, "service" capability....
 
Is there a 1 1/2" gap between the bottom of the drawer and the cabinet?

Edit-Nevermind. I see there is a U-channel brace on the bottom of the drawers.
 
it's about an inch... and yeah, it allows for the drawer support... like a KRL, you could load a TON of weight in these....
 
I'm gonna try to keep the partitioning simple, to keep costs down.. unless he's gonna give me some smoking deal, than I may be a little more creative, and do 4 different layouts...

but for now, I was thinking 2 drawers with just 2 partitions front to back, like this.....

one I'll stack with molded cases like those, the other will have compartments for prybars, straight edges, long screwdrivers, breaker bars, extensions, etc.....



than the other 2 drawers I'll split that again and have 6 compartments... like this....

one will be hand tools, sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc... I'm thinking good magnetic sheet on the bottom...


I had considered the foamy cutout kind of deal, but I don't want to be pidgeon-holed into being that specific... I had actually thought that 6 individual foam blocks the dimensions of the compartments, but only about 3/4 the height to stick on top of the tools for when in transit in addition to the magnetic bottom......


the other 6 compartment one will more than likely be set up for hardware and small parts..

I'm thinking the hardware one, and the one with molded cases will get indoor/outdoor carpet on the bottom, the other 2 magnetic...

my one, of three local :whistle: :haha:, LEO's, stopped at the house to talk to me today about the rig while I was fitting up the drawers... absolutely in love with it... :haha: they all know me from driving around town, and I'm very respectful of local ordnances, so it's good to know I'm in good graces with them...

outside of town, all bet's are off! :whistle: :haha:


ran Mutt on the Parkway for the first time today... she ran good up to about 75.. started getting a bit of vibes at that point.. not bad for 37's with no balancing I suppose... might see about adding some Equal, or equivalent to em.. hopefully I can add that thru the stems..

the downside to Mutt has been everyone wanting me to bend up tube projects for them... :doah: :haha: I don't have time, or interest, in building cages/tube bumpers for people... :doah: :haha:


working out the drawer mounting details... got a bit f*cked on my guessing where to put the "under tubes".. need to trim the drawer supports a bit, but no big thang...
 
I think long term, you'll appreciate building your own dividers. It will be nice placing things exactly where you want them.

Build is looking great!

Awesomeness Paul!....great execution as well.

As mentioned above...Yes you can put the equal in through the valve stems, it may be a tedious process to do without a pressurized tank to blow it into the tire though...check out this video...

thanks.... being it's gonna be a month or so until I get them installed, and a couple months till my guy mods them, I'm gonna work on different configs. actually set up the drawers in the LAB™......

dang, that applicator is over $400 :eek1: :doah: if it was like a hundy, I'd spring for it.... might see about coming up with my own homebrew applicator.... :thinking:

You will have break down the tire for equal. And it uses a different valve core. So will need to pick those up as well.
 
check the linked vid.... the site says each bag comes with a valve core...
 
well, now I have no choice but to buy a new camera... somehow it got condensation inside the lense... excuse the big blurry spot... :doah: :o

Put the lens or the camera in a ziploc bag with some silica desicant bags for a few days...do not heat it...just let the desicant do its job. With a little luck you will have no fungus and it will be good as new.

And if you don't have dessicant -- though you HAVE to, at work if nothing else -- rice will do the same thing.

just some casual messing around the LAB™ this morn... painting the front Razor cover...

smacking the little white ball around this afternoon... Mutt should fit in great at the golf course parking lot! :pimp: :haha:
