Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

cool... good stuff... I have some Sweet stuff burned from back in the day...

I know some look at the music posts and just don't get it.. to me, my influences are important... and I just somehow feel it's relevant between what's is being cranked out of the speakers daily, and what I'm building..

if I was running around with motometals jamming Kanye I'd probably think differently... :haha:

thanks. I know YOU get where I'm coming from..
:D

it's sappy in this day and age.. i get it.. :doah: :o

I know 96% of the world isn't gonna get, well, I should say, actually listen to, and understand to the importance, of what L7 has to say... just fugggin listen and ignore what you "think you should be hearing" :doah: :doah: :saweet::saweet:

it's cool.. I get it for the masses.. listen to the death metally, screamy schtuff that's out. I guess when I was 20, I'd be listenin to that schtuff too???? :dunno:

just trying to expand some musical tastes.. :o

When I work on the truck, I like blasting some Rammstein. The whole "Mutter" album.

But thats just me. lol.

Easy there horsepower. Just asking a question.
I don't care who to reads my stuff or what they think of it. It's nice when somebody makes a comment for sure. I just don't understand the other side of it. If someone doesn't read it: then to bad for them.
I have noticed you have referenced this over a few times and just wondered what was behind it. I am interested in seeing the finished truck. Carry on.

Paul here is the GM part# for the roof maker lens 684662. There are some listed on ebay, just search that #

Go with the old school still light bar if you can find one.

ooooh, you my friend.. tanky. :waytogo: :D

hopefully by sept, I can get that roof deal done.. thanks again... :waytogo:

do you guys think that look I'm going for is the right/best avenue for Mutt? I think with the factory, old school roof lights up front, it kinda goes hand in hand with the style of lightbar I wanna run...

Are you planning the light bar just for aesthetics or do you feel it's needed for towing? I don't think you need it for towing unless you're doing recovery work, like a wrecker. You'll also need a cert. from DMV to use it one the road, just like a fireman w/ the blue lights on his roof.

I'm not a 100% sure on New Jersey DOT rules but if he's oversize at all (Pulling Boats?) The lights maybe required; maybe not to the extent of a light bar, but the cool aesthetics of the old school is a definite plus in my book.

I would also like to voice my support for an old school roller light bar. Just looms right on that truck. I would probably replace the bulbs with LEDs though. Those light bars suck down alot of energy.

I just think it's a better look for this rig, than a newer, sleeker, thinner, LED style one...

I prefer this one. With the crazy custom tube bed and LED tail lights I think this fits better.
IMO nothing about the truck is really saying "old school" other than the body style. The bed, the rims, tail lights, dash, hood gauges, the duck, etc, etc... I think the LED light bar above would fit in just right with all of that.
