Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

oh, ftr..... the footprint of this AC is 40" front to back, 29" wide, and 9.5, 10" high..... it will actually go pretty far forward on the roof, maybe 15" behind the roof lights... had considered getting the black one, and leaving it... but if your gonna go for it, be a proudarse idjit! gonna do the AC Ryoken red.....

i'm hoping the proportions of spare tire, to light bar, to roof hard-on flow... the lights are quite large from the side. at least the eghey one is 12" x 8.5".....

for some, they'll NEVER like what i'm about to do.... just try to keep an open, mad max kinda brain for this one.... ;)

I'll update when I pick the lightbar.....

.

I will always like the old school strobe look...but I am a Federal Signal guy

i'd puree babies to find something like this Fed Signal

waiting on Star to get back to me on width and height for the 8500........ i'm at a bit of a toss up between that and the eghey one.... the eghey one is as wide as i want at 12".. but it's 8'5 high.. which i'm actually looking for.. all the "low profile" these days isn't what i'm looking for here... it needs to stick 2" or 3" above the AC, and about 4 or 5 above the spare... to get that height, i don't want to have the thing spaced 9" above the C-hoop...

i'm guessing the star is about the same width, but much shorter at 5", so that may pose an issue...

one of those ones where ya need like 3 or 4 of these things laying around to mock up... ;)

Got to be one out there for you....just got to locate it...I see one that sold for $200 in January

yeah, i saw that... it's only like 2' wide....

the used, vintage market is hammered right now... nothing on eghey.... even the better brands new lines are down to the sleek, led look these days... for what i'm trying to do, not right....

Wolo does some very oldschool vibe to em ones..... really this one, but it's only 48" long check the vid clip.. http://wolo-mfg.com/light-bars/full-light-bars/halogen/model-7000-a-infinity-1-amber-lens.html

certain things i don't like... i don't like center chrome pieces.. tho recently i've realized i could redo that satin black on one that turned up otherwise cool.... i REALLY like them having a lower portion amber lenses, like the top, like that fed sig i posted.. the eghey one has a clear lower.. other designs like the 9500 are kind of flat alum plate looks...

i'd pay a grand for a clean aerodyne like that vid.... new, repop oldschooly ones, i'd like to stay in the $600 to 800 range.....

need to make a decision in the next week.... really need to have both pieces so i can mock them up...

was it Wes in here that's a big lightbar expert????

it wont be a rotator, it's led strobe, but it looks pretty cool... and it may have the best, "not lit" look IMO... old school feel, modern performance...

it won't be cheap.. it is fed signal new LED stuff.. it'll be every bit of a grand, maybe 1200, 1300....... but I'm hoping it's quality, and I'm digging the amber lens... no amp draw too.....

here's a clip of it running....

might call them tomorrow....

,

wow, even more, like 1500 to $2000 :yikes:

I don't know how soon you need a lightbar, but I bet if given enough time you could get the old rotator for a few hundred..one will show up given time, I'll be looking for one for ya

meh, i know we say that.. but I'm betting they aren't cheap for what I'm looking for.... and i need it now.. i can't just guess on proportions.. well, the AC is gonna be within an inch or so, no matter what light bar, but i still want it all tight and proportioned.. I'm ALL about things being spaced properly.....

just want to keep it moving along.. cant shop for 6 months, need to pull the trigger..

i need to paint the AC unit anyway.... tomorrow i drop the headliner, and see how cwazy, i REALLY am.... ;)

i think i'm gonna do this if i can get it for 15, 16 hunge out the door.... i think it's a perfect look for the rig...

why do it twice?

once it's all together i'll let ya now why full amber was the way to go...

eh, bit narrow, the lenses are hammered and the chrome is huge/ghey... i could thug it out, but.......

well, that would certainly be a "bother the brotherhood for someone to get it kind of" deal.... it's probably a 48".. it does matter.. the c-tube is really proportionate to a 56" to 60" bar.....

my credit card will melt, but i'm not afraid of a Fed Sig...... :haha: my faith in my brain pic as to what will look good has not failed me yet in my expensive endeavors, so far I hope!!! ;)
