on a personal aside for Ryoken...
the chit's kinda hitting the fan here for me physically... just got diagnosed with a pretty bad inguinal hernia.... need to get in with a surgeon... this all started last nov with some bad diagnoses.. the medi-emerg guy today said if i can't push it back in, or bad pain, run to the E.R
trying to limp the shrinkwrap's into x-mas layoff, but not sure i can make it without wrecking it more... at least it's workman's comp... if i can make it to jan 1, than it'll be great cuz instead of going on unemployment for the winter, it'll be workmans comp.... see what the surgeon says...
the real issue for me becomes Kai... finding a reputable place to board him for a couple days, him freaking, yada.... than whether i can get up the stairs once i get home...

i know a hernia isn't that big of a deal, but throwing in the bachelor, dog, insane job, no family close by, and it poses challenges... I shouldn't be working, but I need EVERY penny going into this off-season... things are gonna be tight.... i'll just monitor it and keep plugging away... doubt i could get into surgery before x-mas at this point anyway, my cardio guy will have to clear me for surgery, which means a stress test, and more waiting..

Not sure how you work with a hernia.... When I got mine it started light, got diagnosed, went about a week getting worse every day, then just before surgery if I did more than walk short distances I was friggin crying. I have a massive pain tolerance being an ex masochist. But that chit took me down

I'm pretty stooopid like that.. it's definitely the "eat sh*t" vert skater in me.... I went a yr once on a fully torn ACL, doc called me an idjit...
this actually happened last nov, went back to work in mar, started bothering me again, got worse, screamed at the ins company, etc... crotch burn for 6 months now, and stomach aches for months now... it's about the size of a golf ball... sucks when ya push it back in and it makes squishy noises...
That's crappy Paul...we always have to work through our pains and sprains and even broken bones. But what you've been going through really sucks.

I've been going thru this thread saving all the pics and kind of browsing thru the progression of this rig, how my thoughts progressed on it, and why I posted this, YOUR thoughts......
lot of guys that helped me out thru this thread with ideas, links, motivation, etc... lot of helpful posts from peeps not really in here much anymore.. but for those fans of the rig that still read, thanks for the help thru the project...

just a weird tease update to this thread too......
I kinda have one of those Ryoken "brain pics" going on in my head these days of a project.... that involves Mutt, but is actually a "man-cave" type item, as opposed to a vehicle part...
it's just something for me to fart around with at night in front of the TV this winter... but i think it could be really cool when done..
I just started acquiring the initial parts for it... could be done as soon as a couple weeks maybe, but it may be a month or so..
I actually think this idea could translate to a biz of some sort.. a production piece would be of very different construction..
hint..... it does involves my edge-lit LED technique I used on the K5... but is much more elaborate than that on an artistic and customizable level...
once i start getting it together, i'll start documenting it with pics and such...
