been thinking about a new one since i did the lightbar... fug around with that later...
gonna maybe see about some vid tomorrow of the Sharkhyde cleaning... see how it goes...
sharkhyde cleaning stuff today... tomorrow i'll be doing some sample tests to determine the path.. pics maybe... just trying to figure out how anal i'm gonna be... MANY surfaces, that will NEVER be seen by anyone other than me that have various scrapes and such...
my original intention for maximum, long-term protection and durability, that i would bring the panels thru full polish. lacquer thinner clean, than Sharkhyde em... but going thru the work to wetsand out all the scratches, compound to a mirror. and finally 2 coats of Sharkhide, seems like a fugton of work.. trying to figure out a happy medium...

had to run it off the hot washing machine faucet...
getting revv'd on working on the rig again...
this is gonna be stooopid amounts of labor..... 
pretty sure what I'm gonna do is the same exact treatment to all of this stuff, that I used on the external panels... basically it's machine DA any scratches, cr@p out in the 150 to 180 range.. than come in and wetblock everything with 220, thru 400 scuffpad for the burnished look.... no polishing... THAN I'll do 2 coats of Sharkhide on them....
for now I have no intentions of putting it on the external panels.. but I'll see how i like it on the undersides and would consider it down the road.. I will be pulling, and refurb all the big panels too... but that is mainly to do the undersides and "freshen up" the outsides....

You sir are way more dedicated than me. Id just put it together in the raw aluminum finish and call it good.
obviously I'm stoopid like that....
I don't want to take em apart for a while, so i need to get them thru sharkhide.... and if they were brand new out of the box? like the 4th one in the spare room, i would just coat em, or maybe scuff em first... this is all me paying penance for letting em get that bad.. and they where pretty hammered, just trying to get them all clean and uniform at this point really.... but since these areas will NEVER be seen by another human, I'm trying not to remove EVERY flaw...
yeah, i think it just came out a couple yr's ago..... it's nice... the sockets aren't Snappy nice, but they've holding up fine.... the ratchet I've blown up already.. but my sh*t get's water in it and I don't do enough teardown maintenence... well, any..
he just replaces it...THE biggest thing for me is the case... after yr's of living out of a dozen tool bags, I'm trying to get a couple things in cases.. it's worked awesome having that 1/4" kit... it never gets put away unless everything is in it...
I've tried EVERY socket rail setup known to man... from every clip on, including the sweet snappy quick releases, no rail works, the constant tumbling over, and moving of the tools in the bag, just beat that stuff up... your always find a couple loose in the bottom, etc...
lately i went to empty bank bags for SAE short, metric deep, etc... in my 1/4" bag, 3/8 bag... that actually has worked reasonable... but it's a pain rummaging thru it... i actually spent a couple nights looking around at empty old snappy service cases, to fill on my own.... their 1/4 and 3/8 sets are sick....

thanks.. yeah, i actually have their page liked so i get their stuff too... I've looked at those.. i'm just not sure the configuration is for me.. or how effective it would be for me as a daily wrench with my tool groupings..... it looks nice for in a rig, or under a helm seat or something..
ya gotta love it when an idea-r works out....
other than deciding to run full beads at all the corners of the divider, it all worked perfectly...
those were actually 1/2 cut, and 1 slides into the other... but it wanted to move too easy with just a tack on top...
the only hassle is, you have to remove the drawer to put the insert in, if you have a full front/back divider.. the drawer sits in about an inch on the box, and you can't slide it in.. no big, i knew that when i came up with it... not like i'll need to pull them often...
that is the simplest config I'll be doing..... the next 2 will have different 6 compartment setups... I'm only doing 3 drawers for now...
i like it cuz whatever liner material i want in a drawer, magnet, carpet, bedmat, etc... i can make it the full size, than just drop the insert on top of it.. it sits 1/4" below the drawer top... help keep it from moving around....
now i just need to wetsand that all out thru scuffpad... clean it, and start sharkhiding it.... I'll be doing the next 2 at the same time and get them caught up to this one before doing the wetsanding/coating..... just wanted to walk thru the first as a proof of concept....

I'm stoked on the divider stuff tho...
i ripped off the remainder of the 3/16 into 19 divider walls on the table saw.... it's super easy to do any config... one drawer divider won't be removable per se, gonna have to throw a couple tacks to a side wall.... it will have a full front to back compartment, thus the divider might want to slide to that side if i don't tack it...
but i love the idea of if i change up some tools/equipment/gear, I can just whip up a new divider to drop in to 2 or 3 of em......
