OER brand dash pad is the closest to OEM build quality. USA1 sells that as a whole dash pad kit, with trim and vents. The dash pad alone is available elsewhere for much less and since its black, you dont need to pay the usa1 markup for gm correct colors. Just make sure you stick with OER.
Those letters and numbers come in different font?here's how the eyes turned out...

got the dash and the gauges repainted today...
and i decided to do the GMC with Ryo red as the main color and leave the sides black... think it gives it a bit more pop.... at some point, I'll pick up another set and do the other variation.. cheap enough, just didn't think to buy 2 sets...

suggestions are always welcome......

Don't care for the don't style of the 5.9
Hell, it doesn't even look like the same font as the GMC letters?
Otherwise the color is fine. Does the GMC right to do it in red. Because the GMC logo is red.

That's perfect.I'm afraid I can't say I'm much of a fan of any of those letter options.
J/K. The badge you've got looks pretty good, but I think a project like this could use something a bit more custom, and a bit less tacky.
Know anyone with a 3d printer?

I just drafted that up this evening.
I attempted to replicate the font that's used on the grille, in the style of the typical early 90's GM truck badge.
If you know anyone with a 3d printer, then it would be relatively quick work to get this printed up once I supply the cad files.
I could supply a model file that's all 1 piece, or two files, one which has the letters only, and one that's the background only.
Of course, there's also 3rd party vendors that can print just about any supplied cad file. I've personally used shapeways before, and had good results.
I know someone, but he's here in California.I'm afraid I can't say I'm much of a fan of any of those letter options.

I'm an outlier I guess. The emblems would be badass for the outside, but individual letters look better on the dash.
Either way, you're picking between great and killer and amazing. Good place to be!
Maybe a little closer spacing would help
oh, that's badarse... and perfect... yeah, i would pay someone to make that fo sure.... and i like it as is, as a one piece... if it could be done in all black, i could just paint the tops...
2nd-4th pics show the dash GMC logo but the second is so straight on you don't get the contrast, mostly the third but somewhat in the fourth too you catch the black edge contrasting with the letter and the aluminum. and THAT is one of those details that sets your work apart. Little things that take time and care that just at the right angle show and catch an eye. The rest is awesome as well, I just like when I see a detail I like in the background, not the focus but something that catches an eye and you can feel the attention to detail. I wouldn't be shocked in the least if you decided to revise it again to get the perfect image that you see in your mind but watching that process is where the fun is, seeing your revisions that usually start at awesome, then become awesomer, and then many times awesomerreer.glass/bodywork is basically done.. ready for gauge/switch holes than primer/paint... turned out it was 13 piece...

3d printing is where it's at for many things. I have a cheap machine that I can print things for free on but they would need to be skimmed with bondo or something as they come out with a rough finish. but I could run of a sample logo and send it if someone else can't and you can see what it looks like at no cost. We also have machines that print aluminum and titanium but I can't pull of one of those. Even some of the plastics on our better machines are really high quality, but again I can't get at those, so rough makerbot prints are it, but one thing we have done a fair amount of is print a conceptual part on the makerbot and see if we like the idea before we send it off to the shop with the nice machine. Let me know if you want something printed for a concept and I could get it done then there are plenty of shops with printers if you wanted a higher resolution better finished one done.
back to work monday, so I only have a couple days left till I start torture season...
