I've always went straight to paint on the 2k.... does fine..
That curve right above the body line crease is hard to sand with a square block...any ideas on how to handle that area?
I just edge sand with the block... if you work at 45's, it works the same, just beats the edge of the paper... you can use soft, or curved foam sanding blocks.. i have one that looks like this...
but always be aware of the issues when sanding that conforms.... scuff pads, hand sanding, etc, can sometimes lead to low spots, etc...

yeah, i have the round one of those at work.. they do work well...
what length block should I be using...is the standard one ok...
yup.. I'll do a whole vehicle with one of those...
I'm not taking any chances...I'll go buy a new jar of Evercoat Glaze Coat or Easy Sand or Glaze it...not sure which is best.
Holy Moly...where to start? My valve covers...I cleaned them and they are cracked...
I started some blocking today...ouch...man is slow going...Got some glazing compound...had to drive 20 miles to get it...so I am blocking and puttying...blocking and puttying...didn't get any panel finished so nothing to show.
The passenger quarter doesn't seem to need much...bunch of orange peel I gotta get out....
I got both the fenders primed and put back in the garage...

Progress is progress! Good job buddy! Did you use air craft paint stripper on the valve covers? Seemed to have worked pretty good! How long did it take for them to get to that point?
Took about 10 minutes for the paint to roll up and fall off...
But they are cracked so bad I don't think I can fix them...oil had to be coming out of that one with the big hole

I bet! Thanks for the info! I believe summit has stock style valve covers to replace those. Or else the junk yard is always a good choice.
American Classic has them for $30 a set...I haven't seen them anywhere else...Summitt has them already Chevy Orange Powder Coated for $61.00 a set..
Have any of you filled the gap between the rocker and quarter panel? If you did, what would you use?
make sure you got a good grind to it and do an initial fill with dynaglass...
I used filler but it cracked like a year later. Although at the time I didn't know you weren't supposed to use filler over primer. That's where this thread comes in handy
