School me on lockers please...

Well, after much shopping around, I placed my order tonight :D

I ordered an ARB locker for my D60, along with a 5.13 USA Standard Gear ring and pinion + install kit, and I ordered a Yukon 5.13 gear set and install kit for my 9.5" 14BSF to go on the existing ARB locker.

Hurray for good gearing and strong / reliable lockers -- Ouchy on the bank account!

Looks like I'll be looking for a Detroit for my 10bolt until I can afford a 14bff swap. Would the ARB for the front still be the way to go?

I am not sure about your area, but up here 14 bolt full floaters are cheap as dirt! Buy them for 2 - 300 all day long! Much cheaper than a Detroit and all the axle shafts you'll be going through with one :D

I've ran an ARB front in my 10b for many years with good luck; 4.56 gears, 35" tires. I've had a few axle shaft failures, some of these could be traced to lost u-joint clips. I modified my stock front axle shafts to accept a full circle clip, and that helped a lot; I've also had good luck with the good Spicer u-joints.

waste of cash there. 500ish for detroit and then full install job.

grab a lockright if anything.

or just bite the bullet 1 time and go 14ff and detroit for around 400-450.

Yep 10 bolt and detroit (in the rear) with even 35s means broken. It actually seems like they break less with a lock rite in them ? :dunno:

But if you plan to go 14 bolt then don't waste your time or money.

You can make it live certainly and I have never run a locker in a rear 10 bolt before, but I have wheeled with alot of guys that have. Only my bro in law running 36x12.5 swampers didn't break but he only wheeled in Moab.
