So been a bit since I posted here.
Been making progress little by little.
I have one fully functional garage door.
I will be picking up 2x4s on Monday or Tuesday.
Ran conduit from my current panel today and very nearly got it all done. Man pulling big wire through conduit brings the suck. I didn't take any pics but geez I wish my 12 foot wide covered concrete patio didn't exist sometimes. Getting 2" conduit up from the box, along the roof line and back down to where it comes out if the ground is tricky. I have learned a lot though .

You're not that far from me and I could certainly get down in the next week or two to give a hand. I can also bring a trailer loaded with tools and a hell of a lot of experience comes with me....
I welcome any and all help. I realize the wiring is pretty simple but I still need to brush up on what to do
Nothing is complicated at all. It's all really simple stuff .
Wire lube helps so much. My brother and I pulled all 4 strands of 1/0 in 20 mins with several 90’s and 4 junctions.
Yep and it was a 2 hour drive ( 4 hour round trip) away lol.
I hadn't planned on doing it Saturday just worked out good
corn startch also works good for dry lube . my buddy who is in the trade had me get some at the local store when we pulled a 125ft run of 2 tv/1phone/1cat6 in a 1" pvc plastic line. worked great .
So after a snafu I have power to the shop. Breakers all installed conduit all up. Tired today will put up 2 outlets in the shop tomorrow.
This is a big step. And man did I learn some stuff. Stuff I wish I would have known previously.
I should have spent the money on a 25 ft section of flexible stuff and the fittings to go to the rigid stuff. But as it is all my wire is good and enclosed

Watch your light switches for the dreaded FFO- NO disease that makes them work upside down.
I put outlets in my garage and a few ended up having the ground prong facing up..
...but they were wired correctly,and 15 years later I still haven't felt it worth the effort to remove them and flip them 180 degrees..

Thats actually a hospital standard to have them ground up.. If anything were to fall into the outlet it would hit the ground first. It is not a bad thing.
If you read the name on the face of Hubble outlets it's only right side up when the ground is up lol. It's how I install all of mine anyway. I got sick of my ground pin breaking off of my cords due to cord weight and movement making them week

I have thought about this too. Ground up with outlets 4ft off the ground might be a good idea

As an aside I got all my lumber from an Ace hardware. Best price around beat home depot's price on this 2x4x14s by 2 bucks per board!!!

Yep I know a couple employees there, we spent an hour sorting through the pile. There was about 40 we rejected.
The only way to buy lumber these days. Green new growth does not stay straight very long.
Had some people come over and help me unload the trailer. I start framing stuff up on Monday!
