This would also help with moisture in your air. Well when it's cold out anyway.Build a little insulated shed on the outside of the wall where the breaker box is , less noise less wire needed.
Using black pipe will leech crap into your air. If your sure you will never paint anything with your system fine. I used schedule 40 galvy. And yep, I've seen PVC systems explode too. Nope!Nope not ever. I still have a scar from a PVC air distribution system. Probably just do sch 40 black pipe.

Also, a bad ass pipe threader could come with me....
Copper is the better route I think. No internal rust issues. Better looking. Much easier to change or modify later. Etc.
