Shorty the crewcab. (Been saved from the chopping block)

81 CC short bed conversion
Springs are all replaced. Fronts were supposed to be un-used customs, and the rears were used 52" that were modified lengthwise to bolt to the stock main leaf.

Doesn't matter for my purposes though. I'll address it and try to level it if I ever do a body swap and go nice with it.

I have a set of Terra grapplers for it on the other rims... But I figured these would get it better on the mud roads.

Think I'm going to make my own 3/4" zero rates for the rear. Need new center bolts though.

My fronts are grade 8 bolts with the heads rounded. Not sure if that's ok, but it's what I had

them front center bolts you made are better than std center bolts . even grade 5 is good .

dont forget the rear wheel opening is shorter than the front . always measure body lines i was told .

That's why I measure at the bottom lip lol. That's not perfect but it's close enough....

The other side you can definitely tell the rear drivers corner dips. Couldn't get a pic from that side very well. Need a different parking lot.

And a new issue....

I drove it to work n back yesterday with no issue.
I drove all the way to work and back to town today, no issue.

Then almost home it started missing and loading up. Popped back a couple times.
:dunno:.
I did find a spark plug wire that was rubbing on the steering shaft and it ran better for the 40 seconds it took to move it from the street to the shop driveway. So maybe that's it. But it kind of kills my plan of a maiden off-road voyage tomorrow :doah:

Yeah that sucks. Nothing like leaving the driveway already worried

I've always disliked the plug wires that came on this engine. They've been oil soaked, have abrasions in a few places, and are the wrong angle for the application. They are also mismatched from at least 2 sets and most are way too long.
So I'm going to get new plugs, wires with 45* at plug, and a few clips to organize them.

If it runs decent here in bit I'm going to still run around town with the kids. There are some places that it would still be way more 4 wheeling than they are used to. Boring over done small stuff to me, but should be riot for them lol.

I do have a new set of 8.8 morosos. But they are also 90* at plug which puts the wire either directly touching the head, or bent odd and pushing hard on the header.

Found a little.
I did eat fender on the passenger side once. So I'll have to do more clearancing.
Still running like it's missing. So now it'll sit till it's fixed. But we got to have a little fun first.

Also, I think it's time to put the rest of the components saved from the bee's steering/brakes in it. I've bled the system a LOT and it still works like chit.
I changed the whole pump in my dually, bled it for a few minutes, and it's been perfect ever since. This one has just never gotten better though. So I think it's something else.
Starting to lean towards pump, because it works decent if the RPM is up.
I am at the same place with my diesel suburban.
I am going to drive it to work one day and see how it goes.
I am sure at least the pump, but I would hate to do the pump and bleed it to go back and change the hydro boost

Bleeding the dually after changing the pump was actually super quick and simple. So I'm thinking I'll do pump first, bleed again quick, and hope that's it. Changing the boost unit looks crappy

Quick n dirty bump stop extensions.

I'm not sure. But they are 4" tall, and if they squish to 1.5" my springs will be going negative by 2" already.

I was trying to limit the negative travel so I don't kill the springs.

The way they are made, if I decide I need to raise them I can just cut a slice out of the middle and weld em up again.
