Shorty the crewcab. (Been saved from the chopping block)

81 CC short bed conversion
Lol... Just looked em up, and they are about a mile and a half from my mom's house. I was just there last week. :doah:
Hind sight.
Still 90 miles from me, but maybe I'll make a day of it . Visit mom n chit.

T nut deals I made for the 2 bed bolts I can't get to the bottom of.

The 1/4" bolts have 3/8" holes in the frame and T nut. With nylock nuts. There's play in them so they can move around and it gives me almost the entire range of the oblong hole so it can self align.

Bed goes on tomorrow. Then the filler neck mount can be final fitted.

Filler neck mount is temporary, so yes, it's thrown together lol.

Next will be bump stop brackets. I have a plan, using 94 4runner rear stops at all corners.... Because decent, and cheap.

They are about 2.5" across and nearly 4" tall at rest. $15 ea. If they don't work like I want, I'll do mid 2000's Silverado beehive rears all around. Same mounts will work.

Beds back on.... Definitely going to have to adjust front springs and then final ride height afterwards.

I have a frickin brodozer :doah:

And this part bothers me some... But the bump stops should cure the issue

I thought I was a half inch farther away from the diff. But I have about 4" before they touch. And that's a ways past flat for the springs. So the stops should take care of it for sure

They were supposed to be customs from somewhere for a square body, 4" lift, with a plow. They have multiple leafs but they are all thick ones lol. I already took one out iirc. But they are still STIFF.

And they give me 6" of lift lol.

Drove it to work this morning... I think it has better road manners than the dually surprisingly. Lol.

Needs a cheap decent radio though. The exhaust note is just quiet enough at 60 for the tire him to overpower it

Also, I think it's time to put the rest of the components saved from the bee's steering/brakes in it. I've bled the system a LOT and it still works like chit.
I changed the whole pump in my dually, bled it for a few minutes, and it's been perfect ever since. This one has just never gotten better though. So I think it's something else.
Starting to lean towards pump, because it works decent if the RPM is up.

That's why I was thinking maybe the pumps weak or something :dunno:.

Or it's getting stopped up in the boost unit on the firewall. I have no idea what the fluid does when it enters there. Maybe there a spot plugged up.

It really sort of sucks to drive it anywhere but the open highway at the moment though.

One more note..... After taking all the spring packs apart, adjusting leafs, and putting it all back together.

It's still one inch high on the passenger side :doah:

Measured at the bottom lip of the rocker, front door corner to floor, and rear lower lip near front of rear wheel well.
I get drivers side 25"/25" passenger side 25⅞"/26"

Swap spring packs side to side. 30+ years of 200+lbs extra on the driver's side plus for the average driver and if the original saddle tank was on the driver's side too.
