Shorty the crewcab. (Been saved from the chopping block)

81 CC short bed conversion
I had to cut out the innner fender from that bolt there a the back down.

I put a 4x4 block on the tire, and used a 2x4 as a pry bar and bent that inner fender all the way up touching the firewall. I'm going to have my buddy hold it like that when I verify it'll be ok, and drill/bolt it up to the firewall, foot well area.

My biggest worry at the moment is the core support.
This flange where the inner fender bolts to it is clearly still going to hit. And even with the 5lb hammer that flange wouldn't move at all. If I get it to go up, the rest of the inner fender will easily massage out of the way up front.

Both sides. Cutting on the passenger side didn't go as well :doah: . But it'll do for the truck I guess. I drove it all over town with no issues, but all my usual flex spots were either blocked off now or had a bunch of people around. So that'll have to wait.

That’s looking pretty good.
The front cut is the one thing that I like the most here. The tire rubs on the smooth side of the inner fender and has honestly avoided serious damage for a long time. This is on 39s here.

I’d cut the corners of the bumper off and send it after that.
Kinda like this

The bumper is out away from the stock position a ways now. So that's probably fine. The cutting the fang off thing has never appealed to me :dunno: .
It doesn't look right for some reason to me. That's why I did the angle cut all the way down.
Right now, from what I can see , if it hits anything at all, it'll be the flange where the inner fender and core support meet.and unless I'm going backwards when it does, I don't think it'll hurt anything. I'm still trying to think of a good place to twist it up.

I need to just take it out on a gravel road and drive it down in the ditch or something lol.

I can see where it would help with approach angles though....

I got the winch on the receiver mount, got the quick connect on the winch side, and picked up a couple heavier duty shackles.

But didn't get pics of any of it today :doah:.
Maybe tomorrow I guess.
I still have to slug out the bottom 2 mounting holes, and reinforce a few spots anyway.

So far today I did the work on this, changed an O2 sensor on my buddies Silverado, changed the oil in my other mom's car, and now I'm going to pull the running boards off my new truck.

Drilled the lower holes pretty easy too.

Given the fact that I paid $5 for the mag drill, and $26 for the bit, I got my money's worth in them first two holes :waytogo:

I haven't seen that cable connector with the handle before. That looks handy.

Comes out pretty nice with that. Makes it easier to connect too.

All the forklifts that I have seen have that handle on their connectors.
I don't know where to get them though
