Shrunken Ned...

Geez, keep your head on a swivel. I'll say a prayer for the men and women out there trying to protect and serve.

I don't watch the news ever...so are these still protestors over Trump or what?

Yup

I just watched a 20 min. video on Uncle Sams Misguided children from Refuse facism. ORG. It's crazy to me that people are trying to link Hitler to Trump but they are and are trying hard to make as many disruptions as possible to keep Trump from taking office. I don't follow the line of thinking but I guess when you think way left of center it does.

Keep your head on straight and your eyes open my friend.

So..spring cleaned the shop yesterday and taught a bunch of boy scouts the auto maintenance merit badge last night. We used the crawler as our vehicle. Since I have a super clean shop now I figured I'd do some truck stuff too.....changed my air cleaner over to this...fits the look of the truck much better I think. More propaney

So this time last year I lost a full bag of braided hose fittings when I was building Ned..like $100 bucks worth of fittings..tore the shop apart and went insane trying to find them..only thing I could think of was I threw them out in the cardboard box trash by accident. spent another $100 replacing them......fast forward to yesterday..found them in a paper sack on the sun porch with my BBQ stuff...don't ask I have no idea

I can relate to that kind of thing,

Did you ever get the cooling issues solved? Can't recall and I'm not going back to re-read right now.

I'm currently investigating the cooling issue at this very moment...anyone ever used blue devil head gasket sealer?

Okay...filled Ned with water from bone dry and he started right up like a boss. Let him get to temp and everything worked correctly. no leaks, fan came on at the correct time (180) shut off when it got lower. temp never got above 190 on the gauge and no where close to that on various hoses/radiator with my harbor freight laser temp gauge. let him run for about 40 minutes with some 3k reving and such. turned the idle down a tad, tightened some tranny pan bolts that were leaking. Shut him down and let him sit with a box fan blowing on the motor . went kayaking for 2 hours. came back and the temp of the top heater hose registered 80 degrees. opened the flush cap on that hose (which is the absolute highest point in the water system) and he blew water out under pressure ( like a pint or so). took off the radiator cap it took a quart fill all it all back up. There's a very good chance I could of had a pint sized amount of air in there from the get go. Im gonna run him again in the morning and see what happens

Sooooo I'm not trying to jinx myself..but Im leaning towards the head gaskets are fine and it was the water pump the whole time. cliff notes: installed a brand new standard rotation water pump (we thought was a brand new reverse rotation) last year at BB that caused all kinds of cooling headaches. bought an actual race car aluminum high flow reverse rotation water pump over the winter and installed it along with a blue 3/4 restrictor disc instead of a thermostat ..waited for spring to start it up (didn't want to mess with cold water in the shop during the winter)..

Feel free to chime in with your 2 cents

Bled the truck like a stuck pig and it seems to be working..fingers crossed and all that..gonna drive it down and get emissions test in the morning. It's staying kinda cool which is the opposite of what it was doing.
