Sir Vincent Build

I went to Grey Rock for a XRRA competition. It looked like fun. I only saw the front area that was trails cut inbetween trees going down into a ravine and back up, but there are more trails farther into the park.

Gray Rock ...well ..Rocks! I have not had any progress lately so here are some pics of whats gonna happen next.

I'm back!

After many trials and tribulations, new job, daily driver issues, blah, blah, blah...I am back to working on the crew cab. I've gotten in the rear spring shackle hangers and pulled the 2WD front end (with help from my girlfriend..she's a better wrencher than my buddy:D). Now I am waiting to put my ORD engine cross member in.

First, I need to source the brackets that go between the motor mounts and the frame. 2WD ones don't match with the 4WD crossmember, so I am on hold again.

Here are some pics. Enjoy.

subscribed. Keep up the good work. One of my daughters is a pretty good wrench. Good thing, her hubby builds NASCAR rigs.

Score!

Whoo Hooo! Got a set of 4wd brackets from pull a part for less than $20. The engine was out of the truck already :D I was loving it. Monday, I will remove the old motor mounts, clean, and paint them. And then, the fun part.....ganking the 2wd brackets while the motor is in place and the front end is up on jackstands.Hmm a delicate operation involving jackstands, engine hoist, floor jack and to make it more fun all done on the soggy, soft dirt of my yard. Yaaay let the dance with death begin !

fyi i would ditch the lock washers. go get some crimp lock nuts. not nylock. i have seen lockwashers spit out and make the part loose.

looks good tho.

you gone reuse those crapy rubber motor mounts? i would run some polly mounts and swap the tranny/tccase mount to it also.

I will check out the crimp lock nuts Monday ,Thanks for the tip. As to the motor mounts the one in the pic is junk and going in the trash and I am shopping around for HD motor mounts, Diys look good but the ol'truck fund is not what it used to be. I may just get new stock mounts . My 79 k10 is the real froader ,this truck is not going to be a extreme anything just a good all around ,roomy, custom 4wd.

youll regret not puttin polys in when the stockers go out in a year, truuust me.
i have DIY4X mounts and theyre pretty damn bitchin. its been probably two good years or so and theyre like new.

The new HD poly motor mounts from DIY4x are painted and are now on. The 4x4 motor mount brackets are in after a little custommodificating . And the crossmember is in too! Pics soon. Whoohoo for progress!

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and kudos. I am waiting on poly bushings for the 52s ,and I am still scrounging parts for the crossover steering. I will have it off jackstands soon and can't wait.
