Sir Vincent Build

Not sure if that is high or low, but Tractor Supply sells grade 8 by the pound, not by the bolt.

My local TS does not have any of the front end suspension bolt sizes. Even Lowes and HD only had the 9/16"X5" bolts for the spring ends, noit the 7/16"X5 needed for the upper spring hanger. Finally found mine at a local hardware store.

NewProgress!!!

After a month of rain, cold, or other chores I actually made some progress (finally). I have the front end cleaned, wire-wheeled, flap-disc'd , primered and painted . It is under the truck right now. I am hoping my shackle angle is good and also my pinion angle. I still have to change the diff cover, new fluid, vent line and ubolts but it is off jack stands and I am HAPPY ! pics soon!

I will most likely add an EZ inch, my shackle angle is bad and i need to move the springs 1 hole forward on the b-52 bracket. Which means my wheels won't be centered in the wheel wells, the EZ inch will let me recenter the axle. I like the height where it is but 1 inch won't hurt. I plan on cutting the rear frame and making it a short bed , I think I have pics of the rear shackle flip brackets near the beginning of the thread . This truck started out as a 2wd long bed , it will be a 4wd short bed when I am done. This won't be "xtreme crawler" just good DD/trail/vacation/ truck. Thanks for the positive feedback!

The b-52s are about the same place on the frame as stock front hanger brackets , it is that they let you use rear 52" length springs that give you lift (about 4 inches) plus the benefit of length is better flex and softer ride.A lso you can move your springs/axle forward or back to tune your truck. I want mine at about the stock location , I am using the b-52 kit to get lift, gain in ride quality for a nose heavy truck, and it is a easy way(relatively) to convert a 2wd to 4wd. Plus the kit is seriously beefy. http://diy4x.com/cart/index.php?route=product/product&path=24&product_id=121

How much clearance should there be between spring and frame? In the back by the shackle,There is about a half inch.

it looks like u still have one more spot to move the springs forward in the B52 kit,i would do that to stand ur shackle angle up a bit.

your spring looks pretty flat, so it will not get any closer to the frame. if you stand it up it will ride rough.

Conundrum

Ah uh more input, need more input. If you think it won't hit the frame I will leave it as is . I would prefer a smoother ride. Suspension gurus here's your chance, I need answers . Thanks
