Now, i think this drop-in module from holley is a very good thing. The only issue is i would think you would need to get your tank steam-cleaned by someone who knows what they're doing or risk blowing yourself to the moon when you drill the hole for the module?

Those modules make no sense in these rigs. The TBI sender is available and works, use it. I thought Holley's Hydramat would be a boon, but they don't make any that mate up to any of the gen1 GM EFI pumps like we use. So it's worthless too.
Hit Holley up and tell them to make hydramat for the TBI/TPI/Vortec Delco fuel pumps. The more people that do, the more likely they are to listen.
That or someone come up with a TBI sender with a cylindrical sheet metal sump that fits over the stock sender and fits in through the existing sending unit hole.
Edit: and the Spectra tanks aren't junk quality, they just didn't replicate the GM sump for squat. The plating seems to hold up fine, I've got no rust issues inside or outside of mine, which is what I would expect from OEM. Our options for tanks are pretty limited, nothing wrong with the Spectra quality compared to other tanks I'm aware of.
