I appreciate how you rebuilt the entire under structure of the floor and rear. I did about the same thing, but you definitely did a lot more work.

Yeah it’s coming along now and I’m happy with how it’s turning out and the best part is I can finally drive it but I need to track down a few more parts before I can put my new tailgate on and install the rear window

Yeah it what I signed up for and I don’t mind doing work on the truck I just wish things that have to do with the tailgate didn’t have to be so expensive I’m debating making the sash out of aluminum u channel

I can’t wait for my floor to be done but I came across a great deal I couldn’t pass up I got some new quarters and a complete tailgate with a spare set of rims and tires so i had to go pick it up today View attachment 283422

Yep, you have to pick up stuff as you find it...even if it delays your progress...otherwise you will be waiting longer to find what you need later...if you find it at all

I would have never thought a freeze plug heater would be such a pain to change. I should have just left it in it wasn’t leaking too bad but it just annoyed me seeing coolant by the oil filter. What should have been an hour at most took the better part of two days to get it out because when I removed the bolt out of the center I started to pry on the side that was sticking out of the block and as soon as I did the top part snapped off and left this stuck flush with the block with no where to pry on it so I had to cut a big hole in it to fit a bar in there and get it out

nice work! i am definitely about to tackle some of the same things (cab supports and body bolts) Glad to see im not the only one dumb enough to sink tons of time into fixing a rusty old k5 haha

Yeah everyone said I was crazy when I said I wanted to buy it to fix it up but even though I’m not finished and it’s got rusty quarters still on I get stopped every time I drive it and get compliments. I broke down and had a friend rebuild the front end because it was way too cold out to in the garage but now it’s all done and I got to take it on the highway for the first time and i was impressed with how nice it was considering I know it needs leafspring bushing
