Squarebody CHOP Shop

On a side note, I spent 30 minutes scraping the glass with a razor to get stiff off and clean the glass. I can now see through the glass.

I bought the bolts needed on my lunch break. First track reassembled. Splitting the second track, the pin retainer broke off inside the hole and would not come out. I'll have to order a new pin and new retainers tomorrow (could use a new one on the first track as well). I'm glad I bought the parts manual.

Still waiting for excavator parts so I worked on this today. The trailer spare tire mount has been an issue since I bought the tilt deck. The stud shoulder was longer than the plate was thick, so I could not get the lug nuts right enough. The holes were also slightly off of the correct spacing as well. This lead to the holes getting slightly wollowed out and stuff splines were worn off. I had to slot one hole and weld the studs in with spacers to hold the wheel properly. Now it isn't going anywhere.

I started moving dirt today. The goal is more parking along side and behind the shop that is level and eventually I will add a 20 x 55 lean-to in the back of the shop for covered parking. I still have a lot of work to level the space and then a bunch of gravel will be needed.

We used to used a block like that for testing cranes at the rental place I used to work at part time. I think they were something like 2,500 lbs depending on exact size.

I had three solo truck loads, about 30 yards, of gravel delivered this morning. We had a heavy rain shower over night so the dump truck sank in the recently moved dirt (now mud). I had it dumped in piles. Then, moved it with the tractor to get it spread. I will need another 5-6 truckloads before in done, but this needs to pack in first.
