Squarebody CHOP Shop

BadddAsss... One day me get me lift... & man space and goooodies and a LOCK to keep the women AWAY>>>>>>>>>>>!! YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Or I may just build a big fire between me and "them"...

This weekend was spent on more organizing after bringing home a commercial 66 cu ft freezer that needs to live in the shop. I was able to unload the trailer with the lift at least.

Next I cleaned out a spot near the man door closest to the house for easy access. Disassembled a shelf and sorted through everything we have not touched on the shelf for the last year we lived here.

Next I turned to sorting through the truck parts, including sorting the bolt buckets. These buckets started it as a couple 5 gallon buckets full of everything removed from all the parts trucks in the last year. This weekend I sorted by type and somewhat by size into smaller bins to make things easier to find.

And with a little extra space left over, the shortbed was able to come inside again. I need to start on a heart transplant for it soon.

I guess I've been slacking and haven't updated this thread in a while. Last week I finished assembling this for the front of the shop.

Yesterday, a friend came over and help me get started stripping the drywall and insulation from the ceiling in the milk parlor. I only have the interior pics from when I upgraded the lighting.

After I made a dump run to haul off the mess, we started on the roof by removing the chimney. Turns out a bunch of bats were occupying the space inside the bricks. The first couple took flight with the bricks in mid air before we realized they were in there. Once they were safely out, we finished knocking the chimney down below roof level. This is now used for storing hay and will never have a fire in the building again.

Today we finished removing half of the roof shingles. 3 or more layers worth. Filled the dump trailer so that needs to be dumped tomorrow before starting on the second half.

What are you going to use the milk barn for?

Martin
I can fit 2 tons of hay on the raised floor where the cows used to stand. Now that we removed the shelving from the corner, I can probably fit a couple more tons in that corner.

Thats cool Kenny!
I need to add a solar charger and battery to it. Then wire it up with a motion sensor to light up the driveway.

This thing is only about 15 x 40 feet. Not a lot of space. There is a room at one end that used to house the milk storage tanks that we use for horse tack and grain. The rest is hay and bedding storage.

I ran the first load of shingles to the dump on my lunch break today, weighed in at over a ton. Likely just as much on the other side.

Finished pulling old shingles from the other half of the roof tonight. No pics since we basically finished as the last bit of light faded away. This side wasn't as easy to get the trailer under the eve so the first 1/3 was pushed into a tarp. I'll load that up in the trailer tomorrow.

I spent the day filling in the rest of the holes, adding nails to lose boards, and finally rolling out some roofing felt. It will stay dry until the metal roofing arrives now.

Only one casualty, I got my thumb good when I started patching holes. I managed to hit it with the hammer at least once every day after that.
