like i said before incase you missed it ...... half the fitment problem on the few i have done over the years was solved by pulling the plate to the frame before welding by the 4 bolt holes the box uses . this will pull it in place much better than hand fixing it and hoping its were it needs to be .
next time i have one to do i want to try a spare section of frame i saved from the scrap yard .

Me too and I remember it being branded by another company, I thought it was rancho or something? Either way, I've installed three of them and never had any issues mentioned in this thread about fitment. A few bolts/nuts, some love from the squirt gun, couple taps of the hammer, sip of beer and repeat.

I received my Amazon order today and they are not the Smittybilt plates, they look just like the ORD plates. I got burned....

someone mentioned a few posts back about "dies being worn out" - most of these must be coming from the same place and they don't make em like they used to!??
might be stuck making your own patches?
I guess my vote would be for an option b similar to some of the posts i had with the 2 flat plates and grind a groove/hammer, bend, weld as you go? (Do that after welding the cracks in the frame, and grinding smooth again)
then use the biggest fattest washers you can fit into the inside of the frame and/or make your own fitted washers in there to help spread that load out? and add the diagonal brace?
