It's very possible that the front pump gasket or the pump to case o-ring is leaking.
Both are likely to leak without the engine running.
Another thing that can happen on old automatics.... when the front hub bushing to the converter starts to wear, air will bleed into the torque converter causing the fluid to spill into the trans and overfill the pan.
then the fluid seeps out anywhere it can...
once you crank up the engine, the convertor fills back up and it may not leak again for a week...
if I let two of my older trucks sit for more than a few days,,,trans fluid starts running down the driveway.... one is a powerglide, and the other is a T-350....both do it.
I have to crank them every few days to keep it from happening..
