Tech question first. The shocks that i have for the front are roughly 10" of travel. Bilstein specs are 15.91" collapsed and 25.93" extended. They are advertised for 6" lift. Even though i have 4" i just wanted a bit more travel.
Here they are installed, a quick tapemeasure eyeball looks like only 4 1/2" of uptravel. Will this be enough to absorb daily driving condtions? Hoping that i do not have to go down in size to the 8" travel shocks.
The boot is pulled down to show how much i have, if i run these shocks i will probably take it off altogether.
Now...update? Well i work slow, intentionaly. Its very enjoyable working on this when there is no rush at all. plus i really only go for about an hour in the morning then call it a day once the heat shows up. Spent alot of time cleaning, and cleaning and cleaning, then priming and painting. really taking my sweet time.
-Replaced rotors
-replaced one of the bearings and the seal in the pass. side hub.
-All other bearings looked good as are the warn hubs on there.
-drop pitman arm
-drag link ends...
-waiting to get a tap large enough for the tie rod threads, just to clean them up real nice before installing the tie rod.
Here is where we stand. nothing sexy, but its been slow in the 1st gen forum so some pics are better than no pics.
