suggestions on decently priced quality impact sockets

it's not the fasteners, tho they suck too... try dunking your tools in saltwater near daily...

That only happens when the truck drips on me as it thaws out. The getting wet part sucks on that. Its the first few minutes when you could freeze skin to a metal surface that really sucks

It all depends what is dripping on you, as to how bad it is. Garbage trucks are definitely the worst.

Not going to work on those. The thought of working on a garbage truck gives me the heebie-jeebies. The stench and the maggots would make every day seem like a trip to hell.

Ryoken- one part the truck guys have over you marine guys is tool dropage. I don't go swimming to get it back:bow:

I worked on a few when I worked for Detroit. Most of them have Allisons in them.

Truth. We get them regularly in the shop. And the tridrive corral cleaners. The stench off them in the shop is equal at least.

Sunex Impact sockets hands down. I have the large sets metric and standard deep and shallow. Standards 3/8 - 1 1/2 dosent skip a size and the metrics 10mm - 30mm skips a couple but nothin major. I use them every day for going on 5 years. Always with snap on's latest and greatest 1/2 inch impact. Some times even with a 3/4 gun and a reducer. Havent had any problems with them. They get used alot I am a diesel engine tech.

beleive it or not i use harbor freight pitsburg impact sockets. they have been great, not a single broken one and no excessive wear either. thats the only harbor freight tools i have in my box.
