Supercharger fix;guage & plugs question

Just go lay into it and see if it makes boost.

I did and IT did .. Thanks! :woot:

I think I almost got this thread wrapped up.. Only things I got left in regards to this SC are the spark plugs, and cooling components..

So, knowing the plugs come cooler , should I just go a number lower than stock? I planned on running NGK.

Replacing the radiator this weekend sometime, should I run the stock stant 195?? or a cooler t stat?

All I can really think of.

Again Thanks all for your help!:bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow:

How much boost did it make?
Also I would stick with the delco plugs I think people have had some problems with the NGK.

I didn't "floor it" but more than half got Kentucky a 4lbs of boost. I'm still tring to track down a strange noise in the rear end , making sure I don't blow up something still I guess.

Thanks for the heads up on NGK. Ill steer away from them then. I can't tbd anything on cooler plugs. Guess I'll try out the next cooler plug from stock. Then again, supposedly wipple made these things for "stock well maintained motors".

Stay with the 195* stats? Maybe if I run cooler plugs?

NGK plugs are fine, I use them in about everything including my whippled 454. Use a UR5 or the Delco CR43TS work good too. I'd recommend stepping down to a 180* stat just to help keep the detonation down, speaking of detonation use at least 92 octane fuel and keep the air fuel mixture in the 11.5- 11.8:1 range @ wide open throttle.

It's a good idea to have the TV cable on your trans set a little tighter than most because the engine will be capable of making a lot of torque at half to three quarter throttle and WILL slip the trans if the TV pressure isn't high enough. Do not run the trans in OD when making boost or it will cook the 3-4 clutch in short order.

just talked to my buddy that owns a performance shop and he said to go two heat ranges cooler on the plugs then stock.

On an engine that makes substantially higher horsepower than stock that would be advisable but in this case the engine is only making about 300-320 horse at the flywheel so the stock heat range plugs or maybe one range colder will be fine. Two heat ranges colder will likely result in cold weather fouling issues.
