Swettysblazer's 1991 K5 Trazer: ONE TONS!

Haha, yeah I had to use bigger washers in my bed after I ground the heads off the old carriage bolts. I'm pretty impressed you got it done in two days. I had mine apart for over a week doing body mounts.

I'm telling you man, what a bitch. I had to grind the head off of one of those suckers and the other one popped right out. I did have access to a lift and some exhaust stands so I could use those to lift the truck which was awesome. Still, I don't think I would do it again.

Tailgate fell off? You got a welder now, get that biatch back on!

I'm working on it, I don't think it will be this summer though. I got to weld with a gas setup though, and HOLY **** my welds were a million times better than that freaking flux-core crap. I'm sold.

Not new... Newer. I've been thinking about it a lot lately, and there's no way that I can get something without selling this. Besides, hopefully in the future I can get something thats in a little bit of better shape and thats not so bad. And I definitely need something newer, I can't keep driving this thing without it killing me.

Smart move. A rust bucket is a rust bucket. You can regroup and get something in better shape later on.

I miss my K5 and Big Ugly but I'm glad I sold both of them. Allowed me to fix and make better a lot of things.

Yup exactly. I'd like to do something close to what you did AJ, going out to the West Coast and picking something up and driving it back.

Yeah, there's just nothing else worthwhile left in the rust belt. Wait a few years, clean your life up and get some stuff done, and buy a truck then.

For now, no point in being a slave to an expensive hobby you can't afford.

I've had some bills come up and I'm broke as a joke right now. No clue how'd I'd have paid for it if I still had the Blazer sucking up my money.

Exactly. I need to start paying college loans back soon, plus on top of that I'm paying rent and other junk... I don't have the money to put into the truck to make it worthwhile. I can't reasonably expect to get the 5-6 years out of this thing to get settled into a job and maybe get a new vehicle then...

No i know. I drove the truck for three years in the condition its in now. I'm just getting fed up with all the little **** wrong with it.

For the work i do and for the stuff i do around the house a pickup would be more useful for me right now anyway. But there's no way for me to get a decent vehicle without selling it. I'll get one again in the future when I'm in a better spot financially and settled in somewhere. Its just a truck, and while it may be different than all thr others out there I'll move on

No, sounds like he has his head on straight.

Reality > rusty junk.

Well I'm glad I got to go wheeling with you once :D
It sucks in someways that you need to sell it, but , I can understand where your coming from. I've been there myself, trucks are trucks, they made lots of them, get your stuff in order and one day go find yourself a "keeper" :waytogo:

Good luck to ya :D

and if we do another CK5 trip to RC, between me and my brother we will have an open seat or 2 for you if you want it
