Swettysblazer's 1991 K5 Trazer: ONE TONS!

Thanks fellas. Thanks to everyone who I PMed, bugged, or asked questions to during this phase of the build... It helps to know you guys are here to help fix my screw ups :haha:

WonderChicken. I like it lol. How many neers did it take to come up with that one? Lol

Remember the rubber chicken I had on here? Well after a six pack and some fireball (thanks Zimmer :doah:) she made an appearance again.... Pics in a bit haha

Dude it went a lot faster than I thought to. I surprised myself. I'll get pics tomorrow when its nice out

Yeah, for no longer than that took you, are you glad you talked yourself out of selling it?

Martin

Was that it for rust Brian!??

All that bitching and whining and it`s fixed already! :D :thumb:

No, there is definitely more, but this was by far the worst spot in the truck. There isn't a driver side rocker, but I am doing sliders so I don't need them anyway. I would like to do the floor again the right way this time, but right now I am just going to drive it.

On another note, the fuel pump crapped out :doah: I get to pull the tank again, yippee....

Someone on here...maybe Rene? Did a pretty clean version of that. Made a door, hinged it, sealed it, etc. Pretty good way to do it.

I have one in the floor of my 1990 K5 from a previous owner. I wish it wasn't there. It's not THAT hard to drop the tank. Especially if you buy new straps.

I didn't put the tank in all the way (in my one bright moment of clarity). I just had it strapped up there, but still. It worked before I took it out, worked when I took it out of the tank after it wouldn't start, put it back in again, and then it didn't work

I just got a new sending unit and pump. I figured this one has 240k on it, might as well just get a new one.

Make sure that sock is. on the sending unit nice and tight. I put a new unit in my blazer and when i put a new tank in after my shackle flip, i found the sock had fallen off and was in the tank... Stainless steel hose clamp did the trick to make sure it doesnt fall of again.

Truck is running and on the road. Drives pretty good, no issues really. Just had to tighten my steering box bolts up (again ). Put in a new longer brake line today, did an oil change, and some other little stuff.

OH, and I'm doing my sliders tomorrow :woot:

You don't have a job right now do you?
