Swettysblazer's 1991 K5 Trazer: ONE TONS!

So, the plans. Obviously clean the cab up, get everything swapped over from the K5 to the C10 cab and get it ready to go. Pull the Blazer body off, clean up the frame, do some work while the bodies off, put the body back on and drive the nuts off this thing!

Probably. I've never had air in the K5 but everything is there so I might as well do it.

Such dangerous words... :pimp:

You putting diesel badges on your truck now? :dunno:
No, I'm putting the whole cab on my truck :pimp:[/quote]

I know that. I was wondering if you're gonna keep the badging when you install the sheet metal.

I've been told that adding the right stickers can boost horsepower, reliability, and resale value. :haha:

I like the badges. I've wanted badges since I got this truck eight years ago (WOW, it's scary its been that long) but the 91's never came with any fender badging. I may get some custom stuff from DIY

Cool. What sheet metal (if any) are you going to have behind the cab?

I'm not 100% certain on what I wanna do for a bed. Either tube/steel or wood. I am going to see what the cab looks like on the frame and make a decision from there. I am open to input though

Is the K5 bed completely gone? I was thinking you had patched the rear together well enough to reuse. :dunno:

Have you thought about using a short trailer bed like Richard did? Or would that be too much work to find/make one that short?

Maybe you should post up some current body shots so we can see what you're starting with.

It's toast. The quarters are shot, the rear floor is hacked together, and the drivers side seatbelt mounting just ripped out of the floor :eek1:

Cab looks pretty clean, wish mine was that decent!

Thanks man, it's hard to find clean parts up here.

Just so the current pics are up to date.... Here's what the K5 looks like as of right now. It honestly breaks my heart a little to see it like this. I've owned it 8 years now and it was my first vehicle... We've had a long journey together.

Beings this cab is from a diesel and was set up for hydroboost, would I be better off swapping to that while I'm here?? What parts would I need?
