Swettysblazer's 1991 K5 Trazer: ONE TONS!

Yup. I love the capability with the Lockright I have in the rear now. I don't wanna take a step back from that though

Not really in the same weight category as a full-floater. Just to clarify, this is AAM's 11.5" axle, or is this just another 10.5" 14bff?

Either way, welcome to the heavyweight club. Less airtime in the dunes, right?

Bull! Those are better for air time.

All objects fall at the same rate.

Alright. Talk me through this one. More weight = more mass to lift up the dunes = less speed climbing the hills = less airtime. No?

I would think that you'd be shaving all the pounds you could get away with. If that's not how it works, you'd better be putting that hood back on your rig. :pimp:

And isn't this a rock trail rig anyways? I didn't think dune performance was very high on the list. :dunno:

I was joking.

Although its unsprung mass so jumping wise, its not really any different.

Richard keeps trying to talk me into a four speed swap while everything is apart....
Don't fall into the "might as well" path. That's what I did & caused the truck to be down for 2 years while I saved money and replaced/rebuilt/ modified damn near everything. Put a full manual reverse valve body in there if you want more control, I love mine, one of my favorite things on the truck

That's what I'm trying not to do. I wanna address everything I know is an issue while it's blown apart.

If you're not dying to do the conversion, and you don't have any particular issues with your 700R4, I would simply keep what you have and continue rocking it. :saweet:

Might-as-well syndrome is often fatal to build stories. :doah:
