Swettysblazer's 1991 K5 Trazer: ONE TONS!

I can't find any bigger cells, that don't cost way too much money. That's why I went the route I did. I go on long day/weekend trips all the time, and didn't want to have to bring a bunch of extra gas cans.

Same here. I cant really afford the room for more than a jerry can so having a good size cell is important. I burned about a half tank just doing the rubicon...so about 15 gallons. My minimum would be about 25 gallons that id feel safe with.

Just something to consider, but Brett bought a cheap aluminum fuel cell for the buggy, and he has had to have the corners re welded 3 times now due to cracks forming on the welds. The tank is vented too.

That's weird, especially being a buggy. You'd think with the tube frame there wouldn't be as much flex. Guess i'll have to keep an eye on that and report back if I have that issue.

Hes got rubber at all the mounting locations too, we haven't really figured that one out...

Plenty of capacity, and it's free. Sounds like it wouldn't be too bad of an idea.

If it fits where you want to put the cell, why wouldn't you reuse what you have? :dunno:

For me the sheetmetal edges are kinda sketchy and unappealing. They could be bent down. id reuse the stock tank.

It won't fit in the stock location. I'd either need to move a crossmember or put it directly over the rear axle.
