Swettysblazer's 1991 K5 Trazer: ONE TONS!

Absolutely grenaded a ten bolt axle shaft in the front this past weekend. I think it's finally time though. ...

I saw the video on facebook. It looks like a pretty cool climb too.

Yeah, the climb was kinda cool. It was steeper than it looked, and the rut on the right side was pretty deep. That and it was super slippery.

Let me think about it and I'll let you know. I have one under the Blazer i just bought, and I am not sure what route I am going to take yet.

A front locker and you probably could have had it

Definitely, i think if the other wheel would have grabbed i woulda made it.

It is on my facebook page. I didn't take it and it is private on the person's page who did so i can't share it here.

So, a few plans for this before wheeling season/ Dunefest......

- The truck currently is running like crap. I think this past year between dunking it in the mud (4 times :doah: )and running it hard, something is up with the motor. I just did a full tune up including cap, rotor, wires and plugs and rebuilt the TBI, and it still runs like ass. So priority number 1 is figuring that out. If it comes down to it, I have a complete but in pieces TBI motor I could get worked up to throw in
- Currently, I have one Yukon shaft and one stock shaft in the front axle. Next on the list is to swap the axle shaft and either wheel it, or throw the 60 I have out of the 78 Blazer and put that in the front along with my AAM 14 bolt (probably the best option)
- Tube doors are coming, so no more door damage. Yay!
-Once I get the axles swapped and the motor running good, I think as a wheeler, this thing is going to be exactly where i want it to be. I will be adding a front traction device (what, i don't know yet, but I can get a great deal on ARB stuff....) so that the front and rear are locked. After that, who knows, but I think for the most part, the "build" part of this thread is pretty much over.

If it was me...Throw some axles in the 10 bolt and run it while getting all the parts together for 60/14 bolt. When their the way you want them and complete, do the swap. Won't miss any wheelin that way.
