Teck's '86 K5 Build -5.3 LS/4L65E swap

Having issues with the fuel system push fuel out the vent hose on the tank. It is not run to the charcoal canister, it is now just run to the highest point I could get it to in the back, up by the the gas filler nozzle. The fuel system I used for my ls swap was a 87 an up tank and sending unit with an areomotive fuel pump in the tank, to a corvette fuel filter with a return line on it.

Thought about just plugging it off be not sure that is a good idea.
Any thought on what is still causing this.

Just got a 85-91 GM parts catalog on Ebay. No more hunting up parts on GMwiki parts, what a pain in the *ss

Also got given a sweet set of used GM mirrors form a friend this week, just had to polish them up. Changed out and got rid of the cheap LMC aftermarket ones I had on there.

Found out that the 2013 HOT ROD Power Tour starts in Arlington, Texas next Sat. June 1.
Trying to get a few things done so I can take the K5 there for Saturday's event.

My friends from Year One will be there please don't mind if they take 10000000 pictures for when they put my motor in. Thank you :-)

I guess they can.:D

Trying to get a front driveshaft in it this week.
The old one is about 2" to short after I moved the frontend froward with the zero rates.
Needs a different style yoke and c/v to clear the tranny pan better.

Make sure your vent line doesn't have a low spot in it. Do you have trouble filling the tank?

Nope the line is all above the tank.
Fills up fine.
I'm thinking that with the high volume pump I have in it, it is pumping so much back to the tank that when it is over half a tank it cann't vent fast enough.

Maybe I'm just missing something about my system that is causing this.:doah:

Trying to figure out some way to vent the tank better.

I might fly out to take a look myself. I'll see how the week goes, I didn't plan on catching it until Chattanooga with my son.

Hey Dave, do you think you can talk Kert into building me a front cover for my 10 bolt that matches his 14 bolt covers? I have asked him but never really got an answer if he would or not. I need some cool diff covers the old chrome ones I got are a little rough for my K5.

Tomorrow it will be 27 years ago that I took delivery of my K5 from the dealer. I ordered it 2 months before this to get the exact K5 I had wanted for a couple of years.

Its still hard to believe that I still own it.
Even after taking it apart for paint and body work, and then it got covered up in the corner of the shop for 9 yrs.
And now to have it turn out like it is after 4 years of working on it again.
I do have to give some thanks to the CK5 brotherhood, I don't think it would have turned out like it did if I hadn't have found this great forum.:D

Probably one of the cleanest trucks on here. Awesome that you've had it for so long dude:bow::bow::waytogo:

Thats pretty crazy! I think its insane that i have owned my burb for 10 years! I really hope to have mine half as clean and perfect as yours when i reach the 27 year mark! Oh, and just to make you feel old, im 26 years old. So you bought your truck, before i was even born!

Haven't looked in on this one in a while. Seriously good looking.

Myself and others have had issues Witt he vette fuel filter. It would turn on but then fall on its face under load. Changed it out with a quality delco piece and I w good to go.

Whoa!!!! Ive seen this thing in person! I had to go to dallas a few weeks ago to puck up a friend from Dal/love. I got lost looking for harbor freight tools, and saw you driving.... almost shat myself

Kert is in his "slow season" right now....not that his is sitting around waiting for the phone to ring, but he might take that on...although it is something he doesn't have a jig made up for..:dunno:
