Teck's '86 K5 Build -5.3 LS/4L65E swap

I think you can get some if you are lucky, but I have heard they are high if find them.

You would just have to call the dealer and ask, they can do a search for parts at other dealers

I envy you. That is the way its supposed to be done. I hope my truck will look that good one day

Thanks
That is why it sat so long , I did not want to just throw it back together when I got it back. But life came up (kids, work, money, motovation, time to do it). Then cleaned the shop out and found out how bad the rats had f'd up the interior part that were on the roof of the office.

That was the motovation I guess I needed to get started on it.

Order the seat material today from SMS Auto Fabric. Said I should have it in 10 to 14 days

Thanks, dude
Still waiting on the fabric to recover the seats, those people are slow ,its been over two weeks and they still haven't shippped it yet.

Very nice K-5...I'm looking forward to doing a similar restoration on my '87. I wanted to know what all you had to do to mate the 700R to the NP 205, install 14FF and 3/4 ton 10 bolt? Also what size tires are you running? How much lift do you have?

That all was done back in 1990. It is a TH350/205 adapter, with an Advance Adapter rear output shaft in the trans. As for the 14FF it was from a 1ton , so the spring pads had to be moved, and may have moved the shock mounts also. As for the front just changed the hubs and rotors over to 8 lug/ 3/4 ton stuff. The tires are 39/18.5/ 16.5 MT Baja On 16.5/15 Weld Super Single. The lift is an 8" skyjacker soft ride, all springs on blocks, it also had a 3" body lift, that i have taken off and am hoping to do some other suspension stuff so I don't have to put it back on. The tire would still rub the back of the fender w/ 11" of lift, turned all the way if I got it in a bind. Just don't want to mess up the new fenders

Still waiting on new seat fabric.
I did get the the old Weld wheels polished, took about 12 to 14 hours to do, they were in bad shape. Had to fix the old center cap because the newer ones don't fit the old wheels. Will post some pics when i get camera home.

They told me they found the insert fabic so I should get it next week.
Ordered the dash pad and bezel and other trim stuff to finish the interior today from Classic Parts.

Did you order an aftermarket dash pad? I'm very curious to see how one fits and how close it looks to the original.

It is a reproduction vinyl/foam OEM style. I will let you know how it is when I get it. If it is not right I will send it back and get the GM one, just trying to save a few $ this way first.

REALLY looking good. Plans for this truck are?

Mudbogs right?

Send me my cookie now.

Enjoy it for all the work I will have done. Kids just want me to take them to school in it and show off to their friends.
It will be to nice for mudbogs.:D

The dash pad was on back order that I order , so I got them to price match the factory GM pad $96.95 off $399.00 instead of $495.95.
The dash trim was not GM and does not look right so it is going back.
