Teck's '86 K5 Build -5.3 LS/4L65E swap

Got the door panel all done tonite.

Glade to say the interior is finally done.

Hey are your flooor mats original? Or were you able to find them somewhere?
They are GM originals but not the ones that came with it. I used to get them from a conversion company I tinted windows for in the 90's. Wish I would have got a bunch more(floor mats, consoles, seat, door panel parts by the truck loads back then). Had 2 sets left and 1 was no good (falling apart), those are alittle chaulky but ok.

Thanks, it's been a little bit of a challange to get it back this close to looking stock after how it was 10 months ago.

The support here form CK5 has been a great help and motavation. Thanks again and my goal now is to be able to drive it some time this summer.

Motor rebuild next, tranny going out for overhaul.

I love the fact that you are doing everything to such a high standard:waytogo:.

That thing sits awesome with those uberwide tires, I love that look:bow:.

Thanks guys, build is a little slow at this time due to lack of funds. Work has been real slow.

They're all like that. My 76 is the same way, but it doesn't slide. The older ones like mine just fold forward, base and all.

Gorgeous truck Teck, I wish I had a garage to disassemble mine in.

Yeah back then they weren't ALL about convenience. Mom and kids got in on her side, dad got in on his. Just like the 3 door wagons. My slider didn't work when I parked it, but it was handy at that.

Was there a year when the passenger seat slides forward and the actual base flips forward? I think my buddy's had that but it could've been a dream...sorry to take away from a thread about a beautiful rig!

My is a late model 1986, which got the newer style seat (87 & up)that folds forward and then slides, not the one that just filp up. This was one of the reason I bought this K5 and sold an 85 K10 shortbed, was the seats, and I had always wanted a K5.

Hmm... Mine's an '86 and I don't think mine works that way. IIRC, I always had to manually slide it forward with the adjuster to get someone in or out of the back.

Granted, mine's a Custom Deluxe, former Police truck, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.
