Teck's '86 K5 Build -5.3 LS/4L65E swap

Still waiting on the rest of the cross over steering parts from ORD. They are waiting on the metal for the steering block I need.

Got an appointment for wednesday at 8 to drop it off to get the exshaust done. Told me it would take a couple of days to do custom 2.5" stainless steel system.

Haven't had much time to do much to it lately. Do put 5 gallon of gas in yesterday to make sure the fuel gauge worked and it did.

So hopfully it will be ready to cruise in a couple of weeks.

One more step closer to driving my K5 again.
Dropping it off in the morning for exhaust.
Also trying to get a value for the Insurance company for coverage, so I can get Inspection and tags for it. May have to take it for an appraisal for this.

I so want to go cruising in it on Sunday.:D

Call Grundy, they will do an agreed value policy, you just send them pictures. You can insure it for whatever you want probably, within reason. You just have to have another DD car, and it has to be stored in a garage. But its usally much cheaper.

That's gonna be a fun ride. Wish I could see that thing in person. I can't imagine pictures do it any kind of real justice, although it certainly looks amazing in the pics.

Hope the Sunday cruise works out for you. Let us know how she feels after you get a chance to get reacquainted.

If I get the insurance squared away and they finish at the muffler shop, i will take a cruise in it hopefully.

It will take a little to get use to after driving a 2500HD for so long.

Also they talked me out of Stainless exhaust, they are making with flanges so I can take it off if ever need and so I can have it ceramic coated or painted if I want to, when they are done.

The system he is doing is high enough, not sure I even want to know how much more that would have been. The price is considerable high then they told me without seeing the truck and picking out everything. It will have an h pipe, flow master 50 series delta (truck and suv)mufflers, mounts like on new trucks (pegs and rubber isolators), flanges on the h pipe and both sides of the mufflers and stainless tips out the back.

Should be ready to pick up about noon tomorrow for the exhaust shop.

Awesome! My calendar shows today as being yesterday's tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to the next update.
