Th350 removal

Ok cool. Its at an awkward angle plus inches of crud, i couldn’t see and the interweb didnt help.
Im going to try and dig in tomorrow. Remove kickdown and cooler lines plus the twin stick I just installed. Been a bit under the weather and unmotivated to go in the cold garage.
It is in an awkward place and you will have to do it blindly but taking it off is easier than putting it back on so when you get the transmission off, practice so you know what you are doing blindly.
I will see if I can find a picture from when I did it a few months ago.
But to remove, take bolt off and pull up, the wire will be still connected, grab the end and slide it sideways off the 90 degree bent rod in the transmission. Reverse for putting it on

I have one of those little telescoping mirrors. Ill give that a try.

you're better off leaving it on the transmission. Yes it’s possible to R&R with the transmission in place but that should only be done if necessary.

Ok... ill pull it from the carb this time. I might just buy a new kickdown anyway..

I have all the bolts removed from the 203 adapter and the two bolts on passenger side support. But this sealant or something is preventing the 203 from disengaging. I tried letting some pressure off the jack to see if the 203’s weight would drop it.... no dice

Im removing tcase separate i dont have enough room to back it all out because of the .exhaust.

I gently tapped it with a hammer and tried hammer screwdriver to get between 203 and the adapter ... again no dice.

Am I missing something?
Any advice?

Ok, god damn.... had to remove passenger side exhaust. But, (excuse the cursing) finally got this MFer out...
Shit, talk about stress... hahahaha.
Thanks to you all for the guidance. Thanks to santa for the tranny jack...
Transmission removal is next

This plastic piece is preventing me from removing the kickdown cable. The piece will not move, or better should it slide up exposing where the kickdown connects?

The piece does not slide up maybe it’s stuck?

What can I use to just cut the tranny lines? Im going to put new ones on anyway and these are stuck.

Tube cutter or a hack saw for trans cooler lines.
The cable give it a twist and wiggle the crap out of while pulling up. It will come out

Remove the kickdown from the carb.

Or cut it, it’s a $13 cable and should be replaced anyway.

Ok so next question...
To remove tranny what are the proper steps?
Remove torque converter bolts
Remove bell housing bolts
Remove cross member/mounts?

Then slide it back a bit and lower?

Already removed is
Shift linkage
Cooler lines
Kickdown
Vacuum line
Added;
dipstick tube
yes, remove speedo but in my case I do not have one

Speedo cable (if he has one,I think he said he didn't--but in case anyone else reads this to find out the procedure it should be listed)..

After I had to replace the trans cooler lines and had it be such a pain to get at the fittings on the transmission,I decided to only use a short length of tubing (ready made ones with the line nuts & already flared) at the transmission, then used 5/16" couplings or compression fittings to join them to the longer tubes running to the radiator--that way if the transmission ever needs to come out,the cooler lines can be unscrewed at that junction next to the bell housing without any hassle..Also,the fittings in the transmission that accept the flared lines have a special straight thread in some cases too--don't try using ones with 1/4" npt pipe threads, they will crack the case!..
Don't ask how I know that..:doah:
