Yeah he is. I got a rear end from him on Sunday morning. It's a bit crusty, but should bolt right in.www.facebook.com
Chad is a good guy.
That’s great. I always try to get my girls to help but that only last about ten seconds.Sunday morning the kid was being an annoying older brother, pestering his sister and her girl friend. Instead of blowing up and sending him to his room like I might have in the past, I asked him if he wanted to drop the rear end out of the Jimmy. He leapt at the opportunity.
I had him break the lug nuts loose, put the jack stands into position, remove the u-bolt nuts, and disconnect the driveshaft. I did the rest of the disconnecting (parking brake cable and brake hoses), but they came apart slicker than snot because remember, I just installed all this like 2 years ago and everything was still in good shape. The brake hoses were the easiest fittings to loosen this time, while last time they gave me the most trouble.
So we got it dropped in short order, he stayed out of trouble, my stress level stayed low, and we grew closer together laying under this old beast.
Good times.

Next up: swap these brakes onto the new rear end, replace gear oil and gasket, scuff up, repaint, and reinstall.
This time, I'm not going to put it back on the road until I get my new 3.42 front axle under it as well. No more mismatched gears this year! (I've been saying that for 4 years)
