Just dovetail it and do a slight fender pinch. It's so much better.

I did push the axle back though, probably why it has the appearance of being shortened...
That and being a short bed, would give it a lot less overhang.
You were probably thinking of my '85 K20. It is possibly the prettiest truck on this entire site.
