Does it make me dysfunctional if I'm excited to machine the case and assemble this pile of parts?
:)

Cool, thanks for the linky.
Not 100% sold i wanna crab walk the D44, but i do want 104.21:1!

Now that you are going with a doubler, do you regret putting all of that effort into that Dana 44?

The 3rd pedal? Yes.....

There are a lot of metro sexual men out there now days.

doubler give more options = need to take little less chances = possible longer life of a 44/10bolt . . . . till it goes boom then a 60 :haha:

Ok, so I know that I am a rookie as far as wheeling, but what part of the D60 steering was bad?

I understand how it's big and hits stuff...

And what do you think it would take to get a high pinion D44 to get some of the strength of a low pinion 60?
Or is that not plausible?

I know that you don't need a 60 in your truck since the K5 still has a 1310 at the yoke...

The HP is supposed to make the D44 pinion and gear stronger, and chromos in the tubes helps. Still using 1310 as a fuse in the driveshaft, steer clear of the undercuts.

I never liked how that truck steered after the 60 went in. Like the way the K10 steers w/o one...

Lots of money, and even then it may not be..

I agree, but I was thinking if there was a percentage of D60 strength....

But didn't you adjust the caster some on the current 44?
Would that account for a bunch of difference?

Believe me that I am NOT questioning your plan, just wanting to know more!

Probably playing into that for sure. This axle is set at 7* WITH the pinion up. That one is in standard D60 position, no shim

I heard 30* stronger R+P on a high pinion over low pinion. Weak point is still the axle shaft, or likely the cheap azz Warn hub centers. Broke 7 of those and 2 superwench hubs before I used the Spicers. Then it broke the cross pin in the ARB

Oh, and that D44 had the Warn chromos. Probably THE best chromos ever made.
