I’ll tell you what. If I ever swap the blazer to ls and someone wants to see this sbc wing to the moon.. send me some off shelf crazy solid flat tappet cam and I’ll stuff it in and run it until the crank falls out into the sand with the pedal through the floor.. just to get the one vid at 8500rpm
Need roller parts for that fun.

Yeah most of those newer versions are HP based and shift the power curve up. Not really what I need.

I remember the first time I heard Clint Neff’s C/ED car at Bandimere hit the 12.5 stop on the 2step rev limit.
I believe I said holy f$ck
A punched out 283 on a solid cam with dual quads makes an eerrie sound at 10grand too.

Makes a great sound I bet!! Love me some revved out sbc
Go watch my snow run video in my build thread. You'll hear it wind out.

I do run a factory motor. Only reason it's a big block is for towing the camper.

Meh I won't win this argument but I just don't think a hopped up motor is needed for a wheeling rig. See more stuff broken that way. I figure save the hot rod motor for the hot rods.

But that's just my opinion and I'm only expressing it now to troll this thread anyway. :p:

It’s not even a hot rod motor. Just a torquey small block I won’t have to downshift on Vail pass

It is disheartening to see a Toyota Camry commercial and discover it makes more horsepower than the offroad truck.

Had one try me. Had the windows down. Asked him if he wanted to go up in the hills. He made a pukey face

This is why the Jimmy is stock. Gets me where I need to go and back.

The Buick is getting a cammed and tuned 496.

Yeah if I trailered mine it wouldn’t really concern me much. But realistic planning tells me to ponder the time the engine gets replaced
