Runs ok down low. Lame AF from 3500 up. With the carb on it, had more power

Are you thinking upgrading to a better GM EFI or something aftermarket? Just wondering. Not really sure what options you have with factory stuff if there are any options.

Definitely Aftermarket. I haven’t ruled out a BBC, but even if I do another SBC I might have to buy parts in stages. I’m just not paying someone else to tune FI again. That money can go to heads or cam. I can sell the TBI and get to something newer.

And no @mrk5 . No carbs

I've already rewarded myself with this. Cause while you save your pennies, late late at night in a room with no lights and making sure no one is watching, your looking at LS swaps. And you will find a screaming deal. And LS SWAP IT!
How do I make up that 50-100 lb/ft it’s loosing at 2-3k without spending more money on it?

Plus it still has miles

But worst case, I can get $ back if I sell the aftermarket FI

Don’t care. It’s yet to be proven to me that an LS engine will be able to generate that kind of torque @2-3000 RPM.
Could spend a lot of money chasing a dream, or bolt in an engine I don’t have to convert everything and go

So right now it’s either a pissed off roller SBC or L29 with an aluminum intake and aftermarket FI

L29’s can put down some of the cheapest power around. With the stock heads and pistons they put down 500+whp and 475+lb ft of torque. Bang for the buck you can’t go wrong.
