Quadrajet here too. Dead. Dead af. Can you see how hard I'm on the brake pedal? Also see the rear tires off the ground of the recovery rig.
Threw that mfer in the trash after that.
Fork gasoline in general.

Yeah that situation SUCKS. Sucks coming down an obstacle and having it crap out too. Especially when you catch a boulder or something and your steering wheel turns into a spinning wheel of hand chopper offer. After wheeling my dodge I don’t know that I could go back to a carb on a trail rig. The MPFI spoiled me. It never failed me. A dry sump piling system would have been a good idea though....

You’re a n00b! Actually I was wondering how @SpeedlabDan doesnt get treated like a n00b??? He’s the n00best n00b!

@NorCal69 come to my thread... we have fork.
Cuz Dan doesn’t act like a n00b. He can count 16 bars in 7/4 time. And has better taste in music and cookies

See Mikey, now you have Holley and FITech guys on here. Sure we can get the green truck moving some day

So I plan on still bringing the carb with me to Moab.

But so far, the Sniper has worked well. Have some minor tuning to do in both open and closed loop, but the throttle response is still getting crisper and it sounds clean. Pretty happy with it so far

With respect to tuning already done and future tuning to get it running good (not future engine mods), is it all truly self tuning or “simple” preset parameters or do you really need a laptop and know what adjustments to make (like gm tbi)?

It learns a lot of your air fuel needs based on driving it, but you can alter your target AFR from the base fuel map as needed (also for timing if the computer is controlling that like TBI)

If you want fine tuned, you can get into the advanced parameter mode and modify those charts or blend them so it transitions smoother if that is an issue

Also, Holley has a program to load the datalogs into so you can look at it on the lap top if you want. That's super easy to datalog and also view
