There was a guy in the nomad club that had two different hub caps on his ‘57. Both were Bel Air caps but one side had the accessory spinners and the other side didn’t.

His logic? Can’t see both sides at the same time. So black on the left, white on the right.
 
I’m just mad I didn’t get around them, I was not aware I could live up to my full a$$hole potential.
 
Saw a trick on painting rims with tires on, lower air pressure and slide playing cards in the bead all the way around the rim, air back up if needed, paint, deflate and pull the cards out.
You can also replace cards with masking tape, same result.
Deflating the tire makes a big difference between a decent paint job and great paint job.
 
is there a shortage of black paint?
Actually, yes. At least for a popular PPG polyurethane paint line used by the sign industry. White too. It's been a challenge for the past year.

Same for vinyl film too.
 
Around here none of the hardware stores have much paint, and the price on what they do have is :yikes:
