Those new Smittybilt winches look like a good deal. Been thinking about getting one to mount on my rear bumper.
I'm hoping that all the reviews I've read match the truth. Been looking for used, but these guys think they are gold plated.

It will be tough to outlive that old Ramsey though. At least I don't need the engine hoist to install it

I know 2 guys who run them and they love them. I played with one not long ago pulling the k5 oit of the garage and was impressed.

Almost went rope on the 9500, the 10k has a few things on it I liked better, including it's sexier

Ether bunny didn't bring me anything cool... I even had to cook breakfast today. Must have sensed my feelings about his jackalope cousin?

Reading the specs on the winch.

Found it interesting, 4th layer of cable pull 7950 for the 10k. The 12k is rated at 6770

Boy that sure is a sharp looking winch. Are you really going to run it upside down or is that just the easiest way to test the clearance?

It's a planetary, everything is clockable

Might put the factory bumper back in front, winch out the plate area

My Tabor is clockable but the problem is it can only be rotated every other hole so it didn't work so well with the feet forward. How will you actuate the clutch if you mount it behind the factory bumper? Or another way of asking, which way will you orientate the clutch lever?

Port hole through the front of the bumper.

Will have to remote mount the controls

Tentatively yes.
Have strep, just got back from dr.

Every idea is a great one today

You're going to reclock where that clutch lever is right? looks like it's hanging down kinda low in the pic.
