D1G gear driven spedo, 24C cloth blue, D44 painted mirror, M20 4spd manual, E52 83 inch wrap around door, NA5 tier 0 fed emissions, NE2 40 gal tank, V76 front tow hook, E92 dynamic side impact delete, NY1 shield fuel tank, NY7 shield transfer case, YD3 FRONT AXLE BASE EQUIPMENT FOR SCHEDULING GVW PLATE, F51heavy duty shocks, N33 tilt steering, YD5 spring front base, GT5 4.10 gear, YD6 rear spring base

Did a few things today, oil change and swapped tires. Truck came with Toyos but they are old and starting to check. I had a new set of Nokian Hakapelita studs on some aluminum rims so I bolted them on today. About an inch taller than the stockers now. Drove around in some snow, I think they will work well this winter.

I am amazed this thing sat for as long as it did and the fuel system did not need gone thru. I assume you guys do not have ethanol in your fuel up there?

Only the 91 octane is ethanol free around here. I am also very surprised that I have not needed to replace a lot of parts. I haven't even done a fuel filter yet. I am interested to see what the plugs look like when the new parts get here and I do the tune up.

How's this thing doing?
Doing well. I bought my kids 340 Polaris snowmobiles and season passes to the ski area this winter. That has been taking up most of my free time, teaching them to ski and drive sleds. The Bruin has been the main transportation to the mountain this winter and has done very well. Back in January the alternator froze up on me just after I left the house to ski. Melted through the belt. I was able to limp it back home a few blocks. Ran to the parts store, grabbed an alternator and belt. 45 min later we were headed to the mountain again. Its time for an oil change, I have put 3000 miles on already. Its about 70 miles round trip up to the snow and I have been doing that twice a weekend most of the winter. Now that spring is coming I will have a bit of time for a tune up but we just had a big powder dump yesterday, so back to the mountain this weekend. I can't believe how well it has done after sitting for a decade, its become one of my favorite trucks.

Bruin got new brakes all the way around yesterday. Rear wheel cylinders were leaking. Front drivers caliper had the o-rings that the sleeves slide in disintegrate. Had a funny rattling in the front as a result. Locks them up great now. Started snowing finally. Almost time to load the burb up with skis and head to the mountains!

I am jealous. Suburbans are wildly underrated. What did you have to give, if you don't mind me asking?

Need to put the steel wheels back on with some hub caps.........

I think after auction fees and taxes I was only at a couple thousand. Granted it has some dings and dents and the interior is just old work truck but I also don't have to worry about branch scratches and snow/ mud in the interior. It will surely eat up a few thousand more as I work on it. Slowly doing a little maintenance and upgrades like the brakes. I got a weatherstrip kit from @GMCPaul and that made it nicer to drive. Might do some seat covers and a working radio would be nice.

I do still have the steel wheels, the tires were dry rotted. The aluminum wheels already had the studded snow tires on them. I think I have a full set of dog dish hubcaps so you might see that combo with some summer tires in the future.

My Dad has a nice '91 V2500 burb with the barn doors and an auto. Really clean, 2" lift, new tires, great interior. He doesn't really use it very much and asked me if I was interested in it. Kind of a "sell yours and take mine for whatever yours sells for" type of deal. Keep the suburban in the family deal. I thought about it a bit and concluded that for the way I use it I really like the manual trans and not having to worry about cosmetics. Not sure I could let him sell it though, might have to fold it into the fleet for my kids anyway.
